Jimbo Posted 1 August 2015 Posted 1 August 2015 Jesus wept, you think la liga is only one step above the Scottish prem in terms of competition?! It's arguably the same as the prem if not slightly worse as there's been a shift in power in recent years with the emergence of athletico Madrid and also Sevilla who actually won the Europa league and therefore gain a champions league place, and they finished outside of the top 4 due to Valencia!! How you can compare it to a one team league is ridiculous. Get down from that high horse man. I think you've misinterpreted what I was saying there. In terms of competition, it's a bit like the spl. The same 2 teams (celtic & rangers I know it was a few years ago now) competing year after year for the title. Every now and again a hearts or motherwell might pop up and offer something different but ultimately everyone outside the top 2 is competing for a European spot or fighting against relegation. The split in power and money in la liga will not change any time soon. The competition withing the league isn't really that great. The quality in the league however, is clear for everyone to see. Probably why so.much importance is placed on the champions league. it wasn't meant as a true comparison, but it isn't the most competitive league is it?
