ozleicester Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 As others have said #fearless should've been binned at the end of the season, although it was pretty shit to begin with. Why the club are now using it as our club motto (plastering it on the stadium? Really?) instead of the classic foxes never quit is absolutely beyond me. I guess they're trying to modernise the club and show they're clued in with social media, but instead it shows just how detached they ar This is maybe an overreaction, but it's just a shame IMO. im not having a go... but there are many fans who see this as modern marketing crap
Blue Ed Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 man, there's a lot of anger over a flag...Just f....g chill
SemperEadem Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 If we have to have the flag tomorrow with the Hashtag Fearless then ok. But please Leicester not the #fearless being plastered on the outside of the ground. Use Foxes Never Quit. Too late its gone up.
Matt Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 In before the away fans: What the ****in, What the ****in, What the ****in hell is that? What the ****in hell is that?!
Captain... Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 You can say its shit without being ungrateful for what the club has previously participated you know. #fearless I can just about understand but the ****ing King Power logo!? They blatantly just want to get that photographed and we will be a laughing stock. 'Look at all these people lads, advertising a duty free company!' People need to look up the definition of laughing stock, getting sick of everything that isn't done perfectly meaning we are a laughing stock, we aren't and you really don't have to look too far to find clubs that deserve that tag a lot more than we do. We are joint top of the league, we have just made some cracking signings, we have a great atmosphere which has been helped by the "cringey" clappers, the "cringey" drum, the "cringey" modern chants. Maybe if people stopped spending all their time cringing we might have had a better atmosphere years ago. We have a big flag, it will hopefully get people to their seats a bit earlier and get people creating more of an atmosphere. It may not be perfect, it may have a corporate logo on it, but the alternative is the empty stands until 2:59 and sitting in silence. Praise the club for trying something. Away fans might sing "what the fvcking hell was that" like we did at West Ham's streamers, but who really cares, I would be happy to see a similar streamer thing at the KP, it's what away fans do, take the piss.
Darkon84 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I actually feel a bit sorry for the club if they read all this. Their heart's in the right place, and it's a great idea to get a giant flag down there for the kop, but they really should have consulted some fans or Union FS who have been doing a great job so far. Good idea, poor execution unfortunately.
Captain... Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Amazing how out of touch they can be. Maybe you're the wrong demographic and they are trying to build a core following of younger fans. Get them in young and they will be a fan for life. Although if that is their plan they would be better off putting it in the family stand and leaving the Kop to Union FS.
Voll Blau Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Maybe you're the wrong demographic and they are trying to build a core following of younger fans. Yeah, children love reading banners featuring corporate logos and references to social media sites they're too young to use.
Master Fox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Giant flag = good idea. Including lame social media hashtag and King Power branding = cringe This. I just hope they don't show it on MOTD.
Riot Van Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 However is behind this #Fearless bollocks needs sacking
jammie82uk Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 nothing better then a thread full of complete overreactions
lifted*fox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The club will get it right one of these days. Standing only. Nobody under 16, nobody over 35. Free Stone Island jackets for all fans on entry. Free smoke bombs / flares for all fans on entry. Club organised fights in the car-park before matches. Kasabian songs before, during and after the match. Finally, just maybe the hardcore football fans of the club will be happy.
NewburyFox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 im not having a go... but there are many fans who see this as modern marketing crap At least it doesn't have a hashtag in front of it
Master Fox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 #KeepTheFaith To get rid of.... #Fearless And return to... #FoxesNeverQuit
Captain... Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 im not having a go... but there are many fans who see this as modern marketing crap But that came about when we were all a lot younger and less cynical, hence my point about the strategy being aimed at the younger fans 8-18 with their hashtags and social media and happy slapping. #YOLO
Finnegan Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Club funded soulless bullshit I find this a bit harsh, actually. The union fs tifo has been excellent and I'm not going to imply this flag meets that standard but the thought is basically the same. Why is it soulless and corporate when the club do it? Surely you want the club to get on board with ideas started by UFS? It's not like it says "BUY KING POWER " all over it with no mention of the club.
Ricey Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 As others have said #fearless should've been binned at the end of the season, although it was pretty shit to begin with. Why the club are now using it as our club motto (plastering it on the stadium? Really?) instead of the classic foxes never quit is absolutely beyond me. I guess they're trying to modernise the club and show they're clued in with social media, but instead it shows just how detached they are from the fans and the club's tradition. There is so little about the stadium that points to our history. The banners around the top of the stadium with old players have been replaced by King Power, the big banner that used to have Lineker on outside the stadium was replaced by King Power (and now the incredibly bland LCFC), there are no statues, no references to club legends outside the ground (I don't think, it's been a while since I walked round to the west stand), and now #fearless is being plastered everywhere instead of something like foxes never quit. You'll see #fearless appearing on the inside of the player's tunnel, replacing foxes never quit. This is maybe an overreaction, but it's just a shame IMO. Absolutely spot on. If you didn't know better, when visiting our stadium on a match day you'd assume the home team was King Power. There is nothing, other than a montage on the big screen before the players come out, to represent or commemorate our history. I understand the desire to boost the King Power brand and I'm fine with that, but it's way over the top and not balanced out with content relating to the club and it's history. I noticed against Sunderland we had big flags go up when we scored with King Power logos on. Weird, because I'm sure it was Leicester City that scored, not King Power. The club is so out of touch with the fans it's untrue. I genuinely believe that they think we lap up all this #fearless stuff, King Power logos plastered on everything, gold used at ever opportunity, owners on the programme cover etc. Truth is that we don't and a lot of us find it embarrassing or uncomfortable. I'd urge everyone who agrees to email LCFC Help. Probably won't make a difference but it's worth a go.
BrummieFOX Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 The club will get it right one of these days. Standing only. Nobody under 16, nobody over 35. Free Stone Island jackets for all fans on entry. Finally, just maybe the hardcore football fans of the club will be happy. So far off the mark. I know it was probably mainly in jest but in return for literally thousands and thousands of pounds spent following Leicester, football fans are asking for so little in return. Our owners, club management are far from the worst but it's baffling how out of touch they can still be about certain a demographic of their fans.

Weller in Tights Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Wow and I thought I was getting a bit of a moany old git as I approach 55. Club produces flag. Not exactly what some of you would like. Loads of Foxestalk stalwarts take time out to moan about it. Get over yourselves.
ozleicester Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 At least it doesn't have a hashtag in front of it #fairpoint But that came about when we were all a lot younger and less cynical, hence my point about the strategy being aimed at the younger fans 8-18 with their hashtags and social media and happy slapping. #YOLO #fairpoint cool this one is going viral
davieG Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Yes the stadium is more King power than lcfc but the fans add to this by filling it with themselves wearing shirts with King Power plastered across it. If you don't like the creeping KP stuff don't buy the shirt and put your £50 to paying for a statue we could have a new one every season.
