Unbelievable, but highlights how broken football is.

From a very young age, you are either treated like gold, or thrown in the bin.

Both treatments are just as bad for the individual and at at some point football needs to start taking a look at how it treats its employees.

You could say this lad is a wrong un, but you just think of the errors you made when you were young, and then you think of what errors you will have made at the same age earning a fortune.

This guy is now 32 and he has obviously made some wrong choices along the way, but really football needs to look at how it nurtures it’s employees and helps them develop in ways other than football.

They are treated like a piece of meat, they can be binned at any moment, and that creates a mentality in them that is different to the real world. They get blamed for not being loyal to a club, yet clubs are just as bad and will put a player on a scrap heap at the drop of a hat.

Its a different world, the ethics are totally different to the normal world and it creates what we have in this story.

Agents are seen as leaches, which in the main they are, but they are only treating the clubs like the clubs treat the players.

We could do a list on here of players that have had issues after the during and after the game and it would be vast, and I would suggest it’s much higher than “normal” jobs.

I am not normally one to sympathise, but I really think football in general turns a blind eye to how it deals with its players, and it gets away with it because it can hide behind the fact the players are well payed.

I have noticed over the last few years it is a brutal and horrible sport that is protected by the vast wealth that comes from it.

I also think that if you take the money side out of it, you have to admire those that have come through it unscathed as I think it would be one hell of a situation to deal with personally.

Thought he was pretty good for his age. I remember wanting us to sign him up permanently at one point. Last I heard he was playing in Israel I think?
