Ric Flair Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Agree entirely with that. If you don't throw him in now then when will you? I'm far from convinced that he's good enough to start for us but he will only get better for the experience of being in and around our first team. That's it, we're in a position right now more than ever of being able to give the odd player like Dodoo and Chilwell some invaluable PL experience at times. Certain managers seem to want to do this more so than others, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't but it seems certain clubs do it well and reaps the rewards. The feelgood factor at our club at the minute is the perfect environment for academy prospects.
ARM1968 Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Great night for the lad but one swallow does not make a guzzler. Might be rewarded with the odd PL bench or possibly a decent loan move. Personally think he'd be ok on the fringes of the squad. Give him cup games and maybe the odd late sub appearance.
easilee Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 He played in the cup and Claudio said "son..." "Joe Dodoo run run, Joe Dodoo run" He scored three goals, and we won 4-1 Joe Dodoo run run, Joe Dodoo run

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Probably a player to nurture, softly, softly. Great to see the lad hit a hat trick.
Great Boos Up Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Remember this time last year in the league cup to Shrewsbury. NP played his son, and we died. We also played Arsenal and they sang:"for f**k sake sign a striker" Now a year on we have 4 main forwards and a kid trying to out them. The team last night on paper cost more than our first team. As debut's go I don't know a better? 10 years left in the lad and another kick in the groin for forest. Oh happy days are here again. I bloody love this club, and the pleasure it's giving me.

They weren't singing it at us...
Great Boos Up Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Why is the Arsenal chant relevant out of interest? They weren't singing it at us... Just saying we are a year on spoilt for choice when a year ago we had little option and other clubs were demanding signings, and here is this kid in the background.
Captain... Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 Just saying we are a year on spoilt for choice when a year ago we had little option and other clubs were demanding signings, and here is this kid in the background. And Arsenal still need to sign a striker.I think what you are saying is that we have strengthened whilst our title rivals are still lacking a decent forward line.
Thracian Posted 26 August 2015 Posted 26 August 2015 wasn't at the game but 3 very good finishes for the young lad - very composed! Yes its Bury and not th premier league but lets not disrespect them too much - Great effort by the lad. Trouble is he's not likely to be picked to score against anyone but the likes of Bury. Let's just hope he plays against someone worthwhile at some time, and does okay. Otherwise he'll drift into oblivion on the basis that nothing he does is of any merit. In fact why doesn't the Premiership totally detach itself from everyone but the elite so people like Dodoo never have to play against inferior teams like Bury and can only star against teams it's worth scoring against.
srbfox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 There he was just running down the wing, sing dodoo, joe dodoo snappin' his fingers and shufflin' his feet singin' joe dodoo, joe dodoo

I wouldnt have thought so? I thought Dyer would replace him on the bench. Unless we are going with 1 up top again. Which would mean Krama is out.

ScouseFox Posted 12 September 2015 Posted 12 September 2015 who is "expecting" him to be playing for england u21s?!
davieG Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Ghana call up Leicester's Joseph Dodoo to avoid England ties Joseph Dodoo has had a fine season in the Premier League. Leicester City's Joseph Dodoo has received his first call-up to the Ghana squad as the African country look to persuade him to switch his international allegiance from England, sources have told ESPN FC. Dodoo, 20, has already been capped by England at under-18 level, but Ghana want him to play for the country of his birth and handed the youngster a call-up for the friendly against Guinea later this month and the crucial African Nations Cup qualifier with Mauritius in June. The forward left Ghana to move to England at the age of eight and he was signed by Leicester's academy when he was 13. Since then, he has come through the youth ranks at Leicester and made his breakthrough into the first-team this season in the Capital One Cup. Dodoo scored a hat trick on his debut against Bury earlier this season and he has gone on to make three further appearances for the Foxes. He made his Premier League debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in late August before joining Bury on a month's loan. Ghana scouts have been alerted to Dodoo's potential and have been keeping tabs on his progress with the forward tipped for a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England U21 side.
st albans fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 'a fine season in the PL' ?? if he continues to develop, we could without another player to be lost to the AFCON and also long distance international week trips.
lgfualol Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Good for him. Schlupp and Amartey being there probably helped his decision.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Could have a nice contingent playing for them with Jeff and Amartey as well!
