Matt Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34095858 England: Jamie Vardy and Jonjo Shelvey to get Euro qualifiers callBy Simon Stone BBC Sport Leicester's Jamie Vardy and Swansea's Jonjo Shelvey will be in Roy Hodgson's England squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland when it is announced on Sunday evening. Shelvey, 23, won his only cap against San Marino in 2012. Hodgson has kept faith with Vardy after the striker was fined by his club amid claims of a racial slur in a casino. Vardy has now met the alleged victim and agreed to donate his fine to a charity of the man's choosing. In addition, he will attend a bespoke diversity awareness course in the coming weeks that has been set up by the Football Association at Leicester's request. Vardy, 28, made his England debut in the friendly draw with the Republic of Ireland in June. He scored his second goal of the season on Saturday when he converted a late penalty to earn Leicester a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. England have a 100% record from their six qualification games and will confirm their place at next year's finals in France if they win their next two games. They play San Marino in Serravalle on 5 September and Switzerland at Wembley on 8 September. Well done Vardy! Hope you play (and score) but at the same time don't get injured!!
MC Prussian Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34095858 Well done Vardy! Hope you play (and score) but at the same time don't get injured!! Could be facing Inler at Wembley in two weeks then.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Plays against San Marino he would kill them, could get a couple of goals
Corky Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 If he's picked and Kramaric is lef- Oh sorry, wrong thread. Deserved, had an impressive start to the season.
lgfualol Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Yesss Vardy! Grab the popcorn for every non-Leicester fans' reaction.
Matt Posted 29 August 2015 Author Posted 29 August 2015 Whoop! Won £10 aswell as someone bet me he wouldn't get another call up!
GorlestonFox Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Makes me feel so proud of our Jamie. Love him.
smudger63 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Hopefully Inler will play in both Switzerlands games, i think he needs some match fitness, so could be beneficial to us.
stox259 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Based on Vardy's rapid rise I can see Benalouane winning the ballon d'or in a few years time.
Hack Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Callum Wilson > Jamie Vardy Callum will get his chance I am sure in the future. I see him as the next Jermaine Defoe. He is a talent, no doubt.
Tuna Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 We could play Geoff Horsfield against San Marino and he'd score a hatful. But would love to see Jamie play against them as he'd be bound to score!
MONreborn Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Well done to Jamie vardy! What a player he has become. I wonder how much vardy and mahrez would cost now? Excellent signings and well done to them and the backroom staff (including former manager)
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Wilson is definitely the better talent, but Vardy has more than deserved it he's been electric.
dylanlegend Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Plays against San Marino he would kill them, could get a couple of goals Not sure if he would. They play that defensively he'll never get a chance to run behind the defence which is his trademark. He's excellent when we are counter attacking which against San Marino just won't happen as they never attack
RedSoxUK Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Deserved call up, didn't play his best football today as the lone striker, but worked hard, and his run to get the penalty was fantastic.
LCCFox96 Posted 29 August 2015 Posted 29 August 2015 Most deserved. Would love to see him bag on the international stage. If he starts/gets on against San Marino then there is every chance he will get a break for a goal. England, England's Number 9!
Freesolo Posted 30 August 2015 Posted 30 August 2015 His career is like something out of a film, Non League to England first team
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 30 August 2015 Posted 30 August 2015 Hope he plays, adds some excitement and pace to a usual boring England team
