Tuna Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 He's just not good enough for us and won't improve given his age. Useful as a bench option but think how good we'd be with a 12 million striker to partner Vardy in January.
Swiper Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Don't let your dislike of me get in the way of a valid point, FIF Leo holds it up and is effective in the air, Okazaki doesn't really offer anything more than Nugent did. I think Nugent would have 2 or 3 goals and a fair amount of assists for us by now with this playstyle. Not to mention the fact that he and Vardy knew each other's games inside and out.
lifted*fox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 It was more that he brought on a midfielder and to change the shape, then changed back to the original set up 15 mins later. Strange. He made the change at half time and very quickly (albeit too late by then) changed it back when he realised what a colossal ****-up Okazaki for King was. It completely nullified our attack and we still couldn't control the midfield. First bad tactical decision I've seen from Ranieri. Normally his mid-game tactics changes have benefited us but today it didn't. Not the end of the world - hopefully a lesson learnt.
Thracian Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Apart from after the first game against Sunderland Shinji's never merited his place. As for using an approach that involves crosses, it's pointless without Ulloa. Someone said we used our strongest line-up to start with. We didn't. Sooner or later we were going to pay for our mistakes. The basic ones, and in respect of specific tactics.
Fox92 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 We missed Okoazki's closing down - King hasn't got the pace or the aggression - but I agree. Bring Ulloa in.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 With Albrighton playing i think it is much better to have Ulloa in there for the balls in. Okazaki has talent but has looked like he is never really gonna score again today. Ulloa with Vardy i think has more goals in it
JPM1983 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Didn't exactly set the Bundesliga alight. Thought he was garbage in pre-season,and not that much better so far in the Prem. Give him a few more games to prove he merits a place, or drop him.
Riot Van Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Aye, he runs around a lot but not much else really. He's a diver as well, everytime he does it I cringe.
sdb Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 We didn't look any better without him today but agree it's time to wither start Ulloa or put in another midfielder. Also think shinji would be pretty effective as a sub.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I quite like Okazaki, he has the potential to do well for us, but he wasn't on it today, game passed him by a bit. Too early to write him off though, as I could see him forming a good partnership with Vardy, think he's more suited to our game than Ulloa is. The good thing is we have 4 strikers who all think they should be starting and that can only benefit us
dayday Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I would like to see Kramaric given a chance, the only way we know whether he is going to be good enough,is to give him a run of games
TOMBlcfc Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I agree that we should now bring in Ulloa for him but thought he was alright today, better than last few weeks anyway but still not great
Countryfox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Interesting while we discuss Shinji and Ulloa only 2 people have mentioned Kramaric ... Nugent has been mentioned about twice too ?!? We need another option imo
adam Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 The bloke needs to stay on his feet .Spends most of the game diving about looking for a foul.
I blame Wellens Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 We missed Okoazki's closing down - King hasn't got the pace or the aggression - but I agree. Bring Ulloa in. Agree. King offers very little. His goal against the Hammers masked a poor performance.
Jam Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 The bloke needs to stay on his feet .Spends most of the game diving about looking for a foul. I've got to say from seeing him this season, this is an attribute along with his tenacity that sticks in my mind. Not much else. Loves a good dive to ground. Is it because he is genuinely being knocked down due to his weakness or is he's actually diving?
foxfanazer Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Not writing him off by any means but he seems to be a bit of a nothingy player. Works hard but not much else
GaelicFox Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I like him but he isn't a premier league player imo
filbertstreet Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I like him but he isn't a premier league player imo we haven't been relegated yet buddy
Riot Van Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 I've got to say from seeing him this season, this is an attribute along with his tenacity that sticks in my mind. Not much else. Loves a good dive to ground. Is it because he is genuinely being knocked down due to his weakness or is he's actually diving? He dives mate, its so obvious. How he hasn't been booked yet is beyond me. The one in the first half where he was trying to get past Mertesacker was hilarious.
Ricey Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 The problem with Okazaki, particularly at home, is that we look to play the direct ball. He's not tall enough to win a header and not quick enough for a ball over the top, so the game just bypasses him.
JPM1983 Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Interesting while we discuss Shinji and Ulloa only 2 people have mentioned Kramaric ... Nugent has been mentioned about twice too ?!? We need another option imo After that chip against WHU mid-week, Kram did himself no favours. Shame cos I genuinely think he has got real potential. I have been drinking too though.
Jam Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 He dives mate, its so obvious. How he hasn't been booked yet is beyond me. The one in the first half where he was trying to get past Mertesacker was hilarious. I think you're right fella. Do you think he does it because it's an inherent way he plays or he's doing it because he's realised he doesn't have the ability to go past his man in this league? Just trying to get my head round it tbh.
Dan Posted 26 September 2015 Posted 26 September 2015 Sadly I agree. I thought he looked like he was going to be a huge asset based on his first two games but he's been a total passenger ever since.
