Izzy Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 I'm talking central midfield. Kante isn't a playmaker, he's a stopper. Forget Inler. He's bang average, King plays well then doesn't, which makes us rely on Drinkwater to control the play in the centre. He's a good player, but not particularly creative. Matty James will return soon. Problem solved?

Our creative players are our wingers. Mahrez, Albrighton, Gray, Schlupp. Drinky and Kante chip in with a few assists. A 'creative' centre midfielder is hard to find unless you give them a free role like David Silva, Payet, Ozil
crisp packet Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 Chris Wood and Davie Nugent? At the min I would rather them than ulloa and dodoo?
STUHILL Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 If I were the Leicester owners, I would be giving Claudio/Walsh 25million to spend on a striker. I really think it is that important to us right now. I know realistically, a top 4 would be the most incredible achievement but, we are joint top with 16 games to go... We are so desperately crying out for another top striker and this chance might never come around again, so push the boat out and go big or go home.

To say Drinkwater is not creative is frankly rubbish. He's constantly looking for a forward pass and sees so many brilliant passes. He's the main reason largely for our ability to break so well. Quality forward passes. You've had a mare there.

I agree and also think Kante has the ability to create things, purely by winning the ball and bursting foward with pace and he has hardly shown he is a bad passer of the ball. Always looks for a forward pass and more often than not his passes are spot on Maybe something we need to look at in the summer but for me, those two have done great so far. We need Mahrez back on form and a top striker more than anything
FoxinNotts Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 We need a proper number 10, and have needed one for years. We went through all last season with Nugent in that role he's more a centre forward, we've gone through all this season with Ulloa or Okazaki there when Vardy is up front and it's the same again. We need a proper player for that role, not a makeshift. This, this and this

He's a good box to box midfielder. He's no Garry Parker.
FoxinNotts Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 We need an attacking midfielder, number 10 role, to be used in a 4-4-1-1 line up. I've said it before, someone who knows the role, knows the Prem and will be an instant success. Some like Gylfi Sigurðsson from Swansea. Bid £10-12m and you'd get him.
Slyoldfox2001 Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 Peter Crouch 6 month loan? In all seriousness he would be better than Ulloah.Might be worth a cheeky bid ??

He would be better than Ulloa, at least he can head the ball. Always liked that little and large combination like Deane and Dickov, could work a treat with Vardy especially if we're going to continue with this constant pumping the ball forward in the air like we've been doing in recent weeks.
AKCJ Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 what the **** is this crouch thing? surely a wind up?

STUHILL Posted 20 January 2016 Posted 20 January 2016 If Chelsea are signing Pato then I really think we should go after Remy for a loan deal until the end of the season. Fast, good finisher and him and Vardy would terrorise defences. Other than that, there really isn't that much around in the English leagues that are a) attainable or b) what we need So perhaps we need Walsh to work his magic abroad or we go a bit crazy and spend 20million plus on a top talent now.

FoxinNotts Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Mahrez then. Then Gray / Albrighton on each wing Thinking about it, I'd be happy with that. We've only got 16 games left now. If we lined up like that each game, we'll be fine. Not sure we can keep our 6 (inc. Amartey) central midfielders happy now though. 6 into 2 don't go.
4everfox Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 If we don't sign a striker I will be furious. 15 million plus worldie is what I'm after.
Dan Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Never ceases to amaze me the lack of ambition some of our fans have at times. Some of the shouts in here are embarrassing. Still yet to hear a striker shout that fits the bill more than Milik.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Love Milik, we want Milik! Send Big Was to get him. We are getting a forward in, of some kind, now Krammy is gone. I'm confident of that.
Kilworthfox Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 I said this about a week ago. Is this a serious shout? Crouch? I said that I'd like crouch. It's not a wind up.I see that we are desperate for a target man who can win a ball in the air bring it down and relieve pressure by giving it back to a lcfc player higher up the pitch. My shout for crouch is because he can do that. Our current option is Ulloa and he can't do the job effectively. I'm not suggesting that this is anything more than an option for at most 18 months. This guy can be an improvement on what we currently have. Simple. If anyone thinks Ulloa offers more than crouch could then you haven't watched enough of Ulloa. I also like the idea of Remy, but that is for a different job upfront similar to how Vardy plays. He would compete vs Okazaki for a place in the squad.
kingpowerout Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 It's simple for me. We need a clever "in the hole" type player similar Bojan at Stoke because we rely way too much on crosses and balls into the channel rather than exploiting the central space in front of the opposition defence. Secondly we need a big battering ram of a striker with pace. Perhaps Aboubakar but there must be others out there too. Sign these and I think we'll make top 4 but if we don't then purely based on the last few games, and our lack of creativity, I think we may miss out

A 34 year old who scored 8 goals last year (Ulloa scored 13) and now struggles to get off the bench for Stoke is an improvement on Ulloa? The man's not at his best lately but come on.
