Never know what a managing is about until things tour sour. (not my words)

I'm glad they're not your words, cos they don't make bloody sense!

Can't really compare because we haven't seen this team over a period of time. Well, we haven't even seen the season out yet.

O'Neill finished top 10 consistently and guided us into Europe and won two domestic trophies so I do not know how you can vote the current side better than that.

I know that there is a thread out there somewhere but I couldn't find it. Mods might want to merge this with that one?

Savage has just said this:

'My Leicester team was better than this one'

"We had Guppy, Impey, Heskey, Lennon in my Leicester side. We finished seventh in the Premier League and won a trophy.

"I think the Premier League was stronger in my day, and my Leicester team was slightly better than the current one. But let's see where these finish at the end of the season."

What do you all think of that?

he's a ****. if the current team played in the same era as "savages" leicester, they could repeat the success, "savages" team would be bottom of the league right now. the premier league getss stronger  / more competitive every year, i have never ben prouder  to be a leicester fan

In 2000 when we won the cup Leeds and Ipswich finished 4th and 5th I do disagree when he says it was stronger lol

But them years were brilliant so I would never say an bad word either way!!

That was a good Leeds side was that. Champions League semi finalists if I remember rightly.

To do what we are doing in the modern game is impressive. The TV money has monopolized the PL and so really only four teams can win the league. It's only going to get worse imo and hopefully the league won't become predictable. There will not be those teams that win the league so unexpectedly. That's why this team is so impressive. If we are in the European spots come the end of the season this team has done more than MON in the league. Don't get me wrong. His period remains the best. But if this goes on, this team will overtake that. It's also the style of football which I love. We are exciting, probably one of the most exciting teams in the world. The period under MON was not nearly this exciting..

Annual trips to Wembly, winning the League Cup twice and going to Madrid, was pretty exciting I remember....

We don't have any players in the class of Neil Lennon and our defence is nowhere near as good as Walsh and Elliott.   MoN's team were simply better.  It irritates me that they are rembered by some as hard working journey men.  There were weak links like Andy Impey but real quality there too.

Having said that, Robbie Sav wouldn't get into today's team.

I wa there in the mon era. Nothing comes close to are to where we are now. The team is totally different. We had a team them who surprised.now you have a team where you expect. Totally different

We can all have opinions but the facts say three top nine finishes, three league cup finals and two league cup wins for Mons team.

No comparison.

He may have a point on some levels. But we play in a different time of football now. And if I'm honest, this team plays better football in terms of entertainment and pressure. We were basically a really decent Stoke side back in the day. Today we are fackin Barcelona in comparison. There. I said it.

This team. The PL and quality is so much better now.

Just as long as we keep going and dont fold after christmas.

I used to love savage but recently hes proving to be a bit if a cvnt really

I love the current team and who knows where it will lead.

But MON's team were top ten for 4 yrs and won 2 cups.

The potential is there, but let's give it a touch longer before we say this is a better team.

I missed The early 60's team. Bloomfield's team were a fantastic team as well, but what MON did on a shoestring was pretty amazing.

Please don't get me wrong, I think this team is great and let's all get behind them and support them as they try to become the best ever City team.

Fair point, I meant to say our football was not as exciting then as it is now. Obviously we achieved a lot back then...

obviously the old team achieved more so far, the "new era" is only twelve games old lol.

if this team played mon's team 5 times at the KP the new boys would win 3 or 4 imo. times have changed.

as for savage saying it was "his" leicester side like he made it, well

Next time somebody posts anything along these lines I swear the kitty gets it.

We were nothing like fvcking Stoke. We played very entertaining football. You did realise our 'boring boring Leicester' chants were ironic?

Christ, granted you may not like Savage but to suggest Savages team in which he played, would be bottom of the current premier league really is laughable.

I will remind you three top ten finishes in the premier league, three cup final appearances winning two losing one, players like, Izzet, Lennon, Guppy, Heskey, in his prime, Collymore, Walsh, Taggart, Elliot, etc to name but a few. They would not be even near the bottom of the current premier league.

As I have alluded to yes, it was different times era, but it was still the premier league. I believe a lot of people have voted for the fact they hate Savage not realistically comparing the two teams and what they have achieved.

If we can keep the nucleus of what we have now together, nothing horrendous hits us like a tidal wave, then maybe the current

Crop can go onto achieving more than Oneals and Savages team did.

Tough to compare, but MON's team were a complete team, every one knew their role and played it well together they were very well organised, disciplined and effective, at the moment we are irresistible going forwards, but we are still making sloppy errors at the back which we didn't see under MON.

Now we rarely score from set pieces and often concede, MON's side was the other way round they were such a good team, but the way we are attacking now is like nothing I've seen in a Leicester team, so much speed and ability in getting the ball forwards, creating space and getting shots away at times it reminds of the Manchestee United team of the 90's with Kanchelskis and Giggs just tearing it up. I'm not voting because I love both sides, I'm just happy we had MON's side and happy we now have this side.

I did find it a little bizarre Robbie brings up Impey and not Izzett, Walsh, Eliott, Taggart.
