separator Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Self inflicted, probably felt like slow mo to him as he probably tried to stop the car, no loved ones to find him until the next day, probably quite a slow agonising death as his internal organs hemorrhaged. Quite bad yes. I'd be a bit embarrassed if my son died because he forgot to put the handbrake on, so bad for the family too. Go out in a blaze of glory. Not like that. Been revealed that the car he was driving, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was recalled earlier this year due to them rolling away after the driver gets out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36580731
Merging Cultures Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Been revealed that the car he was driving, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was recalled earlier this year due to them rolling away after the driver gets out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36580731 The recall was due to not having a warning sound if you got out and it was in neutral. Now, if you need warning sounds... Meh, it's late. Night! But here is the article if you are interested http://money.cnn.com/2016/04/22/autos/chrysler-gearshift-recall/
MC Prussian Posted 28 June 2016 Posted 28 June 2016 I mourn the loss of Bud Spencer (born Carlo Pedersoli). http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36648131 Introduced to the World during the 60ies, 70ies and 80ies as one half of the famous Hill & Spencer movie act (alongside his congenial on-screen partner Terrence Hill aka Mario Girotti), a series of simplistic, yet entertaining buddy movies and Spaghetti Westerns that shaped my childhood to a certain extent. Miss you, Bud.

Alf Bentley Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Alan Vega of Suicide (the band) has died - of natural causes (!), aged 78. Sad news. One of the most genuinely original acts of the post-punk era. I like the story that, when supporting The Clash, they got dog's abuse as they were too weird for the assembled punks. Here's a couple of their most famous numbers. I'd also recommend "Frankie Teardrop" (available on Youtube with an excellent video), but won't post link here as it could be a bit disturbing for anyone who's a bit vulnerable.

Alf Bentley Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 Just received this on Facebook: "Love Never Dies:" Marianne Ihlen, the woman immortalized in "So Long, Marianne" and the woman in Leonard Cohen's life through the 1960s, died July 28, 2016. In a 1992 Interview, Leonard invoked his ongoing feelings for Marianne, even after they separated, as evidence that “love never dies.”
