Everton away.. Next up.... Thoughts!

Very excited. My first trip to Goodison Park.

We can get something here but I think it'll be an entertaining game. Everton will come at us and we are obviously very good on the break. Could end up an highscoring game, but then again that's too obvious!

I have a horrible feeling that this will be the first league game this season we will fail to score in. Really hope i'm wrong but can see Everton winning 2-0.

Prove me wrong boys!!!!

I suspect Everton will be wary of our counter attacking prowess and their full backs will be a little more tentative. I feel this will play in our favour with a highly satisfying 2-0 win. Genuinely would be happy with a draw though!

You say there is nothing to worry about....but at the start of the season that would've been an expected/ok return of points for us in those games.

I don't know what you are getting at. It's not the beginning of the season, it's almost the half way point and we are top of the league playing better football than anyone. Everton have only beaten Villa and Sunderland in their last 8 games. It's pretty crap really, Everton are over rated! There's nothing to worry about, we will win quite comfortably.

Feel like I need to emphasise what I put above even more... why so much "change this... change that... worry about these..."

I watched Everton against Palace, they struggle defensively and are hit and miss going forward.

I mentioned above we've scored 9 goals in 3 away games.. take it back further and that increases to 13 in 5.... we haven't lost an away game yet this season and apart from at Bournemouth have scored at least 2 in every single one of them.

Stick with it (aside from the injury changes) no need to change anything else and I really don't think any need for the worriers!

And that Bournemouth game was when Don Claudio was still experimenting a little to figure out his tactics...

Makes me chuckle when we are in the greatest form of our lives and yet some people stil insist on changing the system.

We now play 4-4-2 And until we have a disasterous run of form we will continue to play 4-4-2 and players will be picked to fill the positions rather than the system changed to suit the players.

Also, Mahrez has been world class for us on the right hand side of midfield. LETS NOT CHANGE THIS. Playing him in the middle would crowd him out of the game.

Therefore, against Everton we will / should play 4-4-2 with Benny coming in for Huth as he is next in line for the CB place and King in for Drinky for the same reason. It's up to those players to prove we have strength in depth.

We are Leicester City, we are top of the league and teams should be changing to stop us for now.

Players aren't picked to fill the positions, though. The system Claudio has employed is employed because the players he inherited perfectly fit this system. Which apparently has Italian roots (www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/12/15/leicester-city-premier-league-ranieri-vardy-mahrez-tactics-epl).

I think we can win this even without Drinkwater & Huth. Granted, that will weaken us, but Everton prove time and time again that for all of their occasional brilliance, they wobble like hell at times. That suits us down a tee.

These couldn't beat us last year when we were at some of our worst.

There's no doubting it's tough. These have more about them going forward than Chelsea, but defensively they often fall asleep. We can win it.

Everton are an ok side, nothing special. There fans are pish so if we score the first goal they'll go quiet and mull over what they'll have for supper that night, no doubt. Lukaku is a good player but Morgan has pocketed him the last two games and I'd like Deulofeu if he didn't fall over looking for penalties if anyone so much as pissed in his general direction.

1-0 Leicester.

This could go in 4 threads but I guess I'll put it here.

I'm sorry but King didn't cut it for me. I don't think he's up to the task of replacing Drinky in a straight swap. Drinky is everywhere and touches the ball everywhere and is always involved in the play all of the time. King didn't get enough of the ball. Drinky is usually our touch leader and averages 67 per 90' and has eclipsed 80 touches 5 times. King had 26 touches in 74' which is 32 per 90' but averages 51 over the year. It led to Albrighton and Ulloa doing more in buildup play and took out the direct route to Vardy that we've seen many times. I love it when Albrighton brings the ball up the side but credible threats that we have more attacking options strengthen both types of plays.

I thought Inler looked good in his 20' but I especially like the long balls I've seen in Inler's highlight videos. I think that attribute will help us fill the gap better than King.

No doubt this will be a tough, tough game. When Norwich got off their arses and actually pressed them last Saturday Everton really struggled to deal with players in their face every time they were on the ball. Would 100% take a point, hoping Wes can have Lukaku. I'd start Okazaki too just to stop Everton completely dominating the middle of the park

It's also Arsenal v Man City. We could break away from the pack. Imagine Christmas Day and 3+ points clear at the top!

They will score; so lets go hard for the win.

What have we got to lose ?

If we won and the ARSENAL game is a draw, you'll find we would be four points clear..

Our toughest away game since Spurs away last year, the last time we lost away, that's nearly 9 months unbeaten on the road, but Everton and Liverpool away are huge games, if we're still unbeaten away after these I'll be ecstatic. Bad time to lose a few players, but we will see.
