Wes Morgan - Unsung Hero?

Recommended Posts

He's been a revalation,I think his game has improved no end playing along side huth,it's like he's matured even though he's in his thirties, don't make them

Daft decisions he used to and is solid and consitant

He's turning into a first class defender. Where people speak of Kante, Vardy and Mahrez being our top players, Wes is right up in terms of consistency and quality over the entire season. I wouldn't want to be picking player of the year this season, how on earth are they going to choose a winner?

LMAO at Stones.  Morgan would wipe the floor with Stones. Hype is everything in football.. Stones is proof of that, never really had a good game, never made any good tackles and since he has played Everton have let in double the amount of goals. Our Morgan gets no hype, but he is the best..  the only defender that can touch big Wes is Koscienly.. who I rate.. but no one else can even touch him. As long as he plays in the last 15 games then we will take the title..  he has done it before in the championship and he will do it again in the premiership. the best

Crazy that he's not been booked.

Just shows how good of a defender he actually is

Even if he's not as quick as some... he's as sharp as a butchers knife up stairs. Super captain and deserves to win the Premier League trophy.

Never thought I'd see Morgan turn into a solid Premier League defender but I've been proved wrong. Keep up the good performances, Wes.

Agree totally, definately helps having DS and CF alongside. A true leader on the pitch and will always put his body on the line. One of the main reasons we are where we are.

I didn't know he hadn't been booked this season yet. That's great.

Huth already got 6 yellow cards. He got 5 yellow cards, missed the Everton game due to suspension, came back and got booked on his first game back lol

I know Vardy, Mahrez or Kante will win the club and fans players of the season, but Morgan has been a revelation from last season.

I can't tell what it is but you seem to be a big fan of Wes...

Good write-up on him in The Sunday Times - can't post because of paywall unfortunately.

Talks about his background growing up in a dodgy part of Nottingham to how me made it through to where he is today.

He's been an exceptional signing, and one that was easily dismissed at the time.

The sports science team did fantastic work in getting him to shed a few pounds and hit a new level of performance. Deserves all his success.

Purely hypothetical, but if he hadn't played for Jamaica, how far do you think he would be from an England call up?

Is he better than the other CBs currently in the England squad?

Morgan is a defender who actually defends. If a ball needs to be put into row Z he will do just that. He knows limitations and strengths and he works off based on that.

He's not the most stylish guy but he has a lot of substance and bottle. He does the basics things right and doesn't over complicate things. And that's partly also the reason we doing well.

Sometimes simplicity is all there's needed in life.

Was that his first yellow card of the season today?

I believe it was! Unbelievable achievement given how well he has been playing too!

Morgan's transformation this year has been incredible.vardy trained through the summer 2 years ago and has been transformed as well.

As well as giving away a consolation goal, anyone else disappointed that Wes finally got booked today?

Are you blaming Wes for the goal (or have I read it wrong?).

'Cus the goal was certainly off-side.

Talk about playing to the very top of your ability. Rock solid again today and him and Huth have formed a formidable partnership

Amazed by the stat that popped up today that it was his first booking of the season. For a centre back that is incredible

Nah I just meant it was another silly thing I was annoyed about, as well as the consolation goal! Just sums up our season to be gutted that we gave away a consolation goal and Wes Morgan got his first booking of the season!
