Wymsey Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 He seems much more assured with a presence like Huth alongside him. Just a petty we haven't got anyone much younger (like Moore, but unfortunately doesn't seem to have a future here now) to learn from him.
Suffolk exile Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 Him and Huth were immense last night. But he has come a long way from where he was 12 months ago. Absolutely superb this season!
Koke Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Our back 4 are getting praise, and our 2 CMs are winning MOTM awards on here regularly, but yet we have the worst defensive record in the top 10. How do we explain that? For the record, Morgan's transformation into a good solid PL defender has been one of LCFC highlights of 2015. Phenomenal transformation.

We have been better since Fuchs and Simpson came in. I'm not sure our back 4 was getting too much love when it was Jeff and RDL. I've always liked Morgan. He is quick and mobile, for a heavyweight CB, and now he is playing in a settled and well-organised defence we are really seeing the best of him. He puts opposing forwards under tremendous pressure with his strength and pace, so he doesn't have to tackle as much. Remember when he popped up in the top 10 fastest players in the league back in October, just a touch slower than RDL? He reminds me of all those enormous, and bloody quick, American football players.

How do we explain that?At the start of the year we had De Laet and Schlupp who left Wes and Huth exposed, and no matter how well they played we conceded lots. Now that Simpson and Fuchs have been added we have become a lot more secure, and in the past weeks they have been very well organised, which deserves some praise. I think that if we started the season defending like we are now we wouldn't have a terrible defensive record.

ScouseFox Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 gotta be in with a shout for team of the season, can't be many centre backs playing consistently so well
filbertway Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Weird one yesterday, generally a good solid performance again but he had a few moments where he forgot he was a human center back and turned into a 50p.
CloudFox Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 'Wes Morgan is Leicester’s lucky charm in search of Premier League dream' http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/jan/13/wes-morgan-leicester-city-lucky-charm-top-premier-league Great article on our Cap'n right here. 34 games without a booking, apparently! That's pretty impressive for a centre back, and even more so considering how much defending we've done over the last 34 games.
Chester Dontlie Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Good read! For me it's like Morgan was the ugly duckling last season, and I though he was destined to remain the duckling, but I'm so glad he proved me wrong and this season transformed into a swan. What a player he turns out to be, cool and steady as a marble column, and hardly puts a foot wrong nowadays.
Foxxed Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Nice article, makes up for their last one on him, which ended up being an anti Chelsea rant.
bobtickle Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 I think he only ever had a shaky period for leicester in the first half of last season, where he had to lead a defence with no premiership experience and a squad with very little. Once huth came in January it helped his game no end and he's gone from strength to strength.
WesMorganGod Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Morgan is the best CB in the prem and our history. We won the championship with him and we can win the premiership with him. People don't realize it, but trust me if big Wes was out for a few games you will all see the truth.

Koke Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 It's his birthday today. He turns 32. Never thought I'd see Morgan turn into a solid Premier League defender but I've been proved wrong. Keep up the good performances, Wes.
Foxxed Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Easily one my favourite players, one of the main reasons we've only lost two league games so far.
Guest Manini Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 There's a lad I work with (a proper football nerd, like a huge statto etc. Spurs fan from Huddersfield?! never been to a game) and every time i have a conversation with him about football he manages to bring Wes Morgan up. He's adamant that he's the premier leagues new comedy figure, a la Heskey when that **** on YouTube kicked all that rubbish off, and it's the most baffling theory I've ever heard. It must be something to do with him being a big unit and not being the fastest, but is that what it's come to now? Do we live in a FIFA video game age where every player has to be lightening to be considered any good? Do me a favour. I think Wes has been outstanding this year, he's really come on over the last 8 months and turned in to a real no nonsense, powerful centre half. Proves that a little bit of premier league experience can go a long way.

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Easily one my favourite players, one of the main reasons we've only lost two league games so far. Totally agree. He's been immense this season at the back. Does a lot of key stuff for us.
Dan Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 gotta be in with a shout for team of the season, can't be many centre backs playing consistently so well He won't be because he doesn't try and dribble in his own half like Stones does even though only an idiot would say Stones has had a better season.

Proves that a little bit of premier league experience can go a long way. He's made, what?, one glaring error this season at Stoke. Most of the time he's defended excellently and with intelligence, not lunging in but keeping strikers at bay, nicking the ball, making clearances from dangerous crosses. But like Frank Sinclair, a few mistakes, a few comedy videos and your qualities as a player are ignored. I mean, Jamie Carragher is considered to be a fine defender yet you could easily put a compilation of own goals together to make him look shit.
johnny the fox Posted 25 January 2016 Posted 25 January 2016 http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/leicester-city-star-in-european-team-of-the-week-1 has now made the European team of the week..at least those foreigners know their stuff...
