Out Foxed Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 unsure why he didn't carry on running for Rondon's goal but yeah he's been immense. Hard work pays off.
Ric Flair Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 He is in the top ten best center halves in the league this season, he's been better than Huth defensively and this set up and the environment he's in at Leicester has allowed him to maximize his ability. He's worked so hard for this.
LCFC FOX Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 He's 100% became better while playing with Huth and him learning a few things of Huth has made him a better CB than Huth this season
filbertstreet Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I like when he just decided to be a striker at the end of the West Brom game
kingfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 He is a leader & everytime he steps out on a football pitch he gives 100%. Yes he made mistakes last season, but he would always give 100% and that's why I'm a big fan of his. The reason why we are where we are is because of players like Big Wes, he puts his body on the line every game, plays with heart, plays with passion and I'll go back to that word leader, because in my opinion right now he is the best captain in the league. Arsenal fans bang on about them having no leaders but to some extent they are right, I'd probably only class Cech as captain worthy. As for Leicester any one of Schmeichel, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs & Drinkwater could captain us right now. Also these god damn pundits saying that Huth has been our best defender this season. Don't get me wrong the whole of the defence has been good, but Wes has been the standout. It's about time these idiots on Sky & BT give him the recognition he deserves. Finally if he keeps his form up he might just get my vote for player of the season, as good as Mahrez & Vardy have been, in terms of consistency Wes along with Kante are at the top of that pile.
Corky Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 He loves a little backheel/dragback or dummy to get away from a striker when in possession.
ImBlue Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 unsure why he didn't carry on running for Rondon's goal but yeah he's been immense. Hard work pays off. Might not have expecte Huth to be pushed over so easily.
ithuriel Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 If we lift the trophy and it is still a big if then he and the others will have earned the right to be called the 'Incredibles'
WesMorganGod Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Morgan has always been the best singing we ever made in our history, I don't know why you are waking up to that the last few months. He was the main reason we are in the prem. Don't be fooled..without him we would never have been promoted, he changed us and he manages the team. Forget Pearson and Ranieri, its Morgan who manages the team 80% of the time. Pearson and Ranieri are there mainly for the media and tactics, but Morgan is the man-manager behind the scenes and what Morgan says goes. One day its all gonna come out, and I hope it will be at the end of the season, because all the media will be looking for reasons how in the last 18 months we won the championship 1st place, we had the greatest escape ever in prem history and stayed up, and then went to win the premiership 1st place. And the real thing that will come out is how huge Morgan is behind the scenes. I don't care if you believe me or you don't.. but trust me Morgan has more say than Pearson or Ranieri. Ranieri wanted to do his tactics when he came, and he said the players didn't want to do it and were not convinced about the Italian way.. well I can confirm it was not "players" it was Morgan who told him "we won't be doing that''. Hopefully soon its gonna come out from players like Drinkwater and others.
Len Finsbury Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 What a couple of seasons he's had since he joined us. Won the Championship, and let's face it - he never would have achieved that at Forest. Was a crucial part of the club's PL survival last year and earned his name in club folklore Captained the side to our greatest ever PL points tally and, with confidence I can say this, league position. On target to achieve european qualification for next season. 'Could' captain this team to a PL winners trophy. Fully deserved too. It's true that his performances appeared to improve with the arrival of Huth, but like all players last season, perhaps he just got to grips with the league. Either way, an excellent captain.
Sampson Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 After this season, no matter what happens now, he's alongside Elliott, Cross and Walsh as the elite centre backs I've seen in a Leicester shirt. I'd probably argue that I've never seen another Leicester centre back reach the consistent heights of Morgan this season, not for an entire season where I can barely remember him not making an 8/10 domineering performance. He's been absurd. Already captained the club to its record breaking Championship title and to one of the club's greatest ever seasons in the top flight. Think he's already reached club legend status by this point.
tylesta Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Been top notch since we signed him another great bargain buy by pearson.
Mythyaar Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 He sat a few tables from us in Harry Ramsdens by the Tower with his wife and kid on the Friday afternoon before the Blackpool game 2-2 (A King wonder goal). He's definitely improved since then and has got a few seasons at least at the top level. Huth isn't going to go on forever, but if we got someone like Ashley Williams in next season to play with Wes, I'd be delighted.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 As mentioned above, the arrival of Huth has been great for not only the club but Wes too. Huth's experience at this level has really benefited Wes in to becoming a solid accomplished centre back In this division. Not only that but I feel it's a matter of two other factors which is Ranieri's success in making the back four better and more tactically improved, and also having a season of BPL football experience already. Certainly another player to add to the list of top signings made in recent years.

Hopefully soon its gonna come out from players like Drinkwater and others. Well you certainly seem to like him a bit mate. I have no idea whats going on behind the scenes and if the Italian guy is the real "delivery man" or a deceiver (well he still didnt deliver them their hard-earned pizzas for all these clean sheets, did he!) but I shamefully admit I was one of Morgan doubters last season. He made his share of mistakes then but I'm glad to say I saw the errors of my ways and converted to Morgan believer earlier this season. Last game he was my MOTM. Rock solid in defence and I loved his offensive runs. What a player (or manager-in-player's-disguise if you will), bold, confident, quick with decision-making. I'm even slightly worried if his not over-confident, he's laughing off opposition strikers at times! Also he seems matured as a captain. Really can't praise him high enough this season. As others mentioned, Huth - while having a great season - makes an occasional mistakes that sometimes prove costly. Morgan's defending seems to be close to perfection.
Babylon Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Remember that great big argument about him needing to be stripped of captaincy last season.....
Countryfox Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Morgan's defending seems to be close to perfection. Still can't find the target from 4 yards out though ... I'd put him on the bench for a while till he learns where the goal is. And strip him of the captaincy while I'm at it.
thursday_next Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Agree with all the comments about his defending. I wish we didn't send him up for corners and free-kicks though. The crowd going 'OOOOHHH' for yet another Morgan header which strikes someone in Row Z is gratifying, but it doesn't really serve our purpose. No doubt his team-mates are all aware of this, but they don't like to mention it, because he is captain, and he's harder than them.
NewEnglandFox Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 So much desire and determination in his game. Love the man.
artursteppe Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Still can't find the target from 4 yards out though ... I'd put him on the bench for a while till he learns where the goal is. And strip him of the captaincy while I'm at it. I thought his shot was a rocket fired on target which hit the goalkeeper, from four yards out.
NewEnglandFox Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 I thought his shot was a rocket fired on target which hit the goalkeeper, from four yards out. Your post is a little over the bar....
Chester Dontlie Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Still can't find the target from 4 yards out though ... I'd put him on the bench for a while till he learns where the goal is. And strip him of the captaincy while I'm at it. : D Unlucky not to bag one last time. Imho not many strikers would convert that chance, its always a bit silly when people complain about defenders not scoring. Also, Huthy is the leading goalscorer among the defenders here, obviously Wes should pass him the ball I wasnt registered at FT last season but I was a regular reader by then and remember a lot of people complaining. There was even "Calamity Morgan" thread. In all honesty I was thinking along the same lines, I just didn't see enough quality and confidence in Morgan's game to warrant giving him captain's armband. Now obviously everything's changed! It's a tale of two Leicesters indeed.
TJB-fox Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Don't really give a shit if he's not scoring or if he's not the best ball player, him and Huth are there to defend and head the ball, and boy do they do that. I get that some of the comments above are tongue and cheek but can't really blame him for us missing some guilt edged chances!
Clever Fox Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 He's been absolutely immense this season for us. When you consider that he hasn't had a break from Football for nearly 3 seasons. Normally when you do anything for that long you lose a little interest or focus. But not Morgan, he's getting better game by game which proves the quality of the man. Unlucky not to score on Tuesday but I'm sure he'll get another goal before the season ends.
Out Foxed Posted 5 March 2016 Posted 5 March 2016 Good write-up on him in The Sunday Times - can't post because of paywall unfortunately. Talks about his background growing up in a dodgy part of Nottingham to how me made it through to where he is today. you can't screenshot it?
