Guest Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Even if his contract is up in the summer, his age protects LCFC we'd still get significant compensation.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 He has been described as a very sound lad despite his young age and I do hope he stays with us for longer. We've been banging on about the level of our youth setup for years now and in Chilwell we'd have another hot prospect destined for greater things, and that with our first squad first.Hope he stays Prus I agree
dpjfox Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Im sure the club will get him signed up on long termdeal if his current is due to expire IMO acertain future first team captain
Nickfosse Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Even if his contract is up in the summer, his age protects LCFC we'd still get significant compensation. We would, but nothing like his value if he fulfills his potential elsewhere.I just think it would be a shame if he left and all us supporters saw of him in a Leicester shirt was a couple of cup appearances. Of course our gems will move on just as Heskey did, but at least we had several great seasons full of wonderful memories before he left for Liverpool. I hope that's true for Ben Chilwell too before he heads off to wherever.
dbtcity Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 Is that right? Radio Leicester said last night that his contract expires this summer. They also said koncheskys contract expired the summer just gone yet he's on loan at qpr from us
TheMightySystem Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Ben Chilwell stays with us as we only have Fuchs as Lb and Schlupp is a winger
kingcarr21 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 They also said koncheskys contract expired the summer just gone yet he's on loan at qpr from us I read this and thought what nonsense. Then looked on Wikipedia and it says his contract ended summer 2015. How on earth is he on a season long loan from us??? How bizarre
David Guiza Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I read this and thought what nonsense. Then looked on Wikipedia and it says his contract ended summer 2015. How on earth is he on a season long loan from us??? How bizarre Think it was due to expire, but he got a new one based on how many games he played last season. God knows how these clauses continue to exist.
TheMightySystem Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 - Says what? “@BenChilwell stays with us because I have only Fuchs at left back and I have Schlupp as a winger.” Indicates to me at least that we are not going to sell Chilwell
lgfualol Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Hopefully this means we wont have Schlupp at left back ever again. He's way better on the wing.
Long Eaton Fox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I hope Chilwell plays tomorrow. We need a back-up left back now. If we sold him we have to get another in. Think if his contract expires in the summer and we don't sell now, it gives us 6 more months to persuade him to stay. We get a tribunal fixed fee if he leaves in the summer. May be less than now but maybe we will be in the CL and Liverpool won't. Anyway we can't complain, it's how we got Gray
davieG Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Perhaps we waiting to see how him performs/fits in with the 1st team squad before offering him a long term contract. This is why it would be useful to stay in the FA Cup for a few games especially if we get a few signings completed.

I doubt that to be the case, everyone at the club knows how highly rated and thought of he is, they wouldn't gamble on waiting to see how he does this season before offering him a new deal as his current deal expires soon and we're vulnerable to losing him for way less than he's going to be worth. I think the reason no deal has been agreed yet is due to outside interest from bigger clubs, just hope we nail him down as he seems to be very coveted.

Stevosevic Posted 8 January 2016 Author Posted 8 January 2016 Anyone actually know when his deal expires? RL said 6 months, the daily mail said 18 months
Legend fox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 18 months on my fm2016 I know not real but only saying
Stevosevic Posted 8 January 2016 Author Posted 8 January 2016 18 months on my fm2016 I know not real but only saying Usually pretty reliable on contract lengths in fairness
Daz93 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Ranieri said today in his press conference that he's keeping Chilwell at Leicester because he thinks he has a massive future and wants him to be a part of the squad.
GaelicFox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Has to play him Sunday and give the lad dorm hope to think he is part of the future
gurru991 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Ranieri has a history of spotting talent and being able to bring it along. I think Chilwell has a better chance of first team football here than at the "super teams" who are supposedly chasing him.
Jaspa Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Have we offered him the 'One of our Own' chant yet?
TMELcfc Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Usually pretty reliable on contract lengths in fairness Def 18 months, confirmed on boot room the other night
