Legend fox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Though it was have to come through an English set up. So any team in England all most half our first team squad
Finn Claw II Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I can't see why a loan at a decent club can't keep him happy this season. Look at Courtois, he had Cech in front of him. Fuchs is 30 and is in his prime and will be for a couple of years yet. That said, next season we could have Europe to contend with as well as losing players to AFCON. Chilwell should focus on being first choice here in 1.5 seasons time
st albans fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He is young and has had his head turned. probably a lot to do with his agent but I have no proof of that. I couldnt blame him for taking an offer form arsenal. however well we do this year, they are always going to be a bigger club than us. If he has huge confidence in his ability then he probably believes he can hold down a starting spot there. If he was that good then he would have already been in our starting line up. Would like him to stay as he clearly must have an affinity for the city having been here for a while but if the club aren't bothered enough to keep him then neither am I.
Len Finsbury Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 As much as I'd like to keep our best prospects, you can't miss what you've never had. losing Chilwell isn't like losing a current first team player. If he doesn't want to stay, then let him go.
ramadaone Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Lot of people seem to be assuming he wants to leave Any evidence to back that up ?

AKCJ Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Why should we cash in? Young and local lad already impressing in the youth teams, the Championship and the England set up/. Not to mention he's got experience in being a captain. We'd be silly to let him go for peanuts, really do think the lad has potential.

Because his contract is up at the end of the season and we're going to get even less peanuts for him in a tribunal. If he wants to leave, its preferable to do it now when we'll at least get something for him.
WhoGivesAFuchs Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 The only problem for Chilwell is that he has a left-back of genuine international quality in Fuchs ahead of him. He would stand a chance if one of the big boys came in for Fuchs, but I think we'd all see that as a huge setback for the club, comparable with selling Vardy, Mahrez or Kanté. Unfortunately, it's very possible that Chilwell will have more of a chance of displacing Monreal and Gibbs than he does of getting ahead of Fuchs. Clearly you haven't been watching Monreal this season, him and bellerin have been two unspoken heroes for arsenal this year, as for fuchs he is a good player getting on a little bit and struggle when matched up with a tricky winger which we saw against liverpool and everton and sterling and de bruyne had him sussed pretty straight away, chilwell is young and an exceptional Left back he will do very well.

Austrian Captain aged 29, 9 months older than Vardy so not sure if you can class him as over the hill just yet. Fullbacks need to learn their trade and Chilwell though an excellent prospect is just that. Let him learn his trade out on loan, not ready for a first team spot just yet and certainly not at one of the "bigger clubs"
TheMightySystem Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Sounds like he is staying. “Hopefully that will happen (playing with him) at some stage. Now I’m back I’m just going to see how the next few months go and try to take every opportunity as and when they come.” Read more at http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/chilwell-welcomes-gray-on-board-2884534.aspx#tEuY2YMJDxHgB6Hc.99

lgfualol Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 If he stays we could already have our future left side. Chilwell + Gray.
Guest Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 If he stays we could already have our future left side. Chilwell + Gray. and our right side De Laet and Vardy.
st albans fox Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 What do you expect him to say? I couldn't give a shit what happens I'm probably leaving. and he says 'they' rather than 'we' when speaking about the way WE play

I read his consistent use of 'they' and the fact he's talking about "seeing how it goes" as someone who doesn't neccesarily feel convinced that they'll be sticking around and will just be winding down the remaining months on his contract until he's free to depart.

I did think that in the back of my mind but im trying to be positive about it would be a shame to lose him especially when we are in our position and have a better chance at offering first team football then the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool
Wizerud Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 If we have any aspirations to be a top 6 team we need to keep him. Rotate him and Fuchs if that's what it takes. We need to make a statement to these traditionally big clubs that our players are not there for their lazy cherry picking taking. Start playing him and if he's good enough sign him to a new contract to ward off Liverpool and Arse.
themightyfin Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 He has a contract till July 2017 so he can't walk away for nothing.
MC Prussian Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 He has been described as a very sound lad despite his young age and I do hope he stays with us for longer. We've been banging on about the level of our youth setup for years now and in Chilwell we'd have another hot prospect destined for greater things, and that with our first squad first.
Nickfosse Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 He has a contract till July 2017 so he can't walk away for nothing. Is that right? Radio Leicester said last night that his contract expires this summer.
