Ric Flair Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 At least we know he's been sought after by us for a while now so this isn't a panic target. If we did bring him in then he's an improvement on Ulloa and that can't be sniffed at but it's also a short term measure and we'll be looking to strengthen again in the summer. That's not a bad thing, we need a player to compliment what we've got as we push for top 4. He knows the league and seems to start well at clubs by all accounts which is all we need him for. Our top 4 quest has just 4 months to go, we need to think short term as well as long term. Our project for the coming years can be put to one side this week as we try to bring players in to get us over the line and potentially change our future as a mediocre club for a long, long time. It's a yes from me given there's only 4-5 days left to get anyone in and it's bedlam out there trying to get in a striker who can make an immediate impact.

Well said, he also won't expect to start every game and he'll rotate with Okazaki and Ulloa depending on the circumstances. Gerrimin
NewquayFox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 I think I read somewhere that he has only scored 9 league goals in 39 games, surely he's scored more than that..... Up the Titty.....
SecretPro Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 . People saying Pelle isn't an improvement on Ulloa? Have a ****ing look at yourselves. #clueless.
VLC86 Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 our scouts are probably not the best at looking for strikers when you think about it Is this real life?
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 He has the best hair in the Premier League. I've checked the stats and he has 100% parting accuracy.
chapero82 Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Is this real life? Yes of course think of all the strikers they have signed since Pearson has been here only Vardy has been brilliant, I'm not knocking the scouts just saying strikers could be there weak point
CloudFox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Exactly. Especially if we've got Ulloa as well, we need another fast striker in case Vardy/Okazaki are injured else it's hoof city. This is the crux of it really. Really like Pelle, and he would be an upgrade on Ulloa...but it's still not our style. Maybe I'm too sentimental, but I also feel quite bad for Ulloa if we let him go too soon (which this deal would hasten). He deserves better than that for what he's done for our club.
goose2010 Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 If we can get him for 5mill its a no brainer for me!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Yes of course think of all the strikers they have signed since Pearson has been here only Vardy has been brilliant, I'm not knocking the scouts just saying strikers could be there weak point What non-sense!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 The thought of Fuchs and Albrighton whipping balls in for this chap... GEERRIIMMIIINNNN
chapero82 Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 What non-sense! kermit, futacs, Kramaric, etc how have they done for us?
teblin Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 kermit, futacs, Kramaric, Ulloa how have they done for us? Ulloa scored 13 goals that helped keep us in the league. 13 goals which was equal most I believe any player had ever scored for us in the premier league.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Ulloa scored 13 goals that helped keep us in the league. 13 goals which was equal most I believe any player had ever scored for us in the premier league. And now Vards has set the new record, so out of the two seasons we've been back in the Prem, strikers that have been scouted by Walshy have set two consecutive club records. Yeah, you're right they're probably shit
Tuna Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Waghorn was decent in his first season with us. Phillips made a massive contribution to us going up, Wood played his part but ultimately we outgrew him. Ulloa goals last season kept us up. Not sure what this guy is on about.
simon789us Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Would take him loan out ulloa get another goal scorer in and we're done
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 kermit, futacs, Kramaric, etc how have they done for us? Logic behind each one of those. Kermit has gone on to score at Championship level. Futacs was very clearly signed as an 'option player'. Kramaric - didn't work out here, but scouts could be proved right on that one. I believe Nugent would have been scouted would he not?

Yeah, you're right they're probably shit I never said walsh was shit did I? when did I say that?? not once they are great scouts just that nearly every signing they make is great apart fro strikers they have signed more bad than good that is all
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Is this real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a land slide, no escape from reality...
thybluefox Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Pelle is a significant upgrade on Ulloa, and regardless of whether we get another fast striker or not - if he's available lets get him. Especially for that price. We should be looking to get any one who is an improvement on our current side - and getting Pelle doesn't mean we won't look at getting someone else too. Tbh I see Ulloa dropping out of favour fairly soon.
Robin JD Popley Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 As I said yesterday, for me this is a no brainer: - He is a full Italian international. - He has played in European competitions. - He is good in the air and also, has a great shot on him. - By all accounts, a great pro both on and off the field and he plays with passion, like most Italians. For £5m I can't think of many better alternatives; playing for a national icon of his too probably is a draw in Claudio. Gerrrimmmmm!
