ceredigion Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 You would have thought, given the season we've been having, that Claudio Ranieri would be able to open an off-licence with all the 4.5 litre bottles of whisky awarded to the Manager of the Month. But far from it. January's Manager of the Month was Southampton's Ronald Koeman. They didn't have a bad month, winning 3 and losing 1 of their 4 PL matches. They beat Watford and West Brom at home, Man Utd away and lost at Norwich. They were beaten at home by Crystal Palace in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. So they were beaten twice in the month and took 9 points from a possible 12. Leicester took 8 points out of a possible 12 but didn't lose a PL game in January, regained the leadership of the league which hasn't subsequently been relinquished and played 2 matches in the Cup rather than Southampton's one. This season Claudio has only won on MoM award, in November when we only played 3 games and won 2 , drew 1. I think he should have won in January. I wonder who makes the decision, Mark Lawrenson?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Keeps the limelight off Ranners for another month That's a positive for me
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Keeps the limelight off Ranners for another month That's a positive for me We're top of the premier league, the spotlight is on him regardless
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 These awards are a load of bollocks anyway. Just an ego massager. The only award we want is the one of winning the title.
ScouseFox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 didnt most people on here spend most of january telling mahrez he was shit, telling ranieri he was an idiot for not signing at least 15 strikers, for bringing de laet on at right mid, and pretty convinced we were going to finish bottom half cos we drew with aston villa
ealingfox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 So what you're saying is Southampton's results were better than ours in January yet they still decided to give it to Koeman? Unbelievable.
ScouseFox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 We're top of the premier league, the spotlight is on him regardless well he dont like oo oooh living under the spotlight oo oooh
lgfualol Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 If we get a result ay Arsenal I reckon RanRan will get it for Feb
Koke Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Didn't Vardy win back to back player of the month awards, October and November i think? These awards are quickly forgotten cos nobody cares.
Brainy Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Why are you counting their FA cup game? Pretty certain its Premier League results only

shen Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Aren't we getting enough headlines anyway? Let the others pick up meaningless crumbs and don't be greedy.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 I'm sure The Don is not particularly bothered. He has a game at rhe weekend where we are playing a "fantastic big club who are ready"
Harry - LCFC Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 No argument from me. As excellent as our two wins were, draws against Bournemouth and Villa are mediocre results. We weren't the best team in January.
AKCJ Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 What were our performances though? 0-0 at home to Bournemouth, poor. 0-1 away at Spurs, excellent result but Spurs should have won. 1-1 away to Villa, poor. 3-0 at home to Stoke, excellent. Take off the blue specs lads.

Rincewind Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Didn't he win it last year, the same time Vardy won his POM?
MPH Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 He'll get manager of the year so we have to at least share the other accolades....
Babylon Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 but Spurs should have won Why? Because they had more possession and did nothing with it. I don't think Ran' should have won, but I'll disagree with that. They didn't do enough.
Jordan Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 He'll get manager of the year so we have to at least share the other accolades....This. The PL could just give him the Manager of the Year award now (well, provided Spurs don't win the league ).
Fox42 Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 I think Ranieri is in a similar position to Mourinho last season. Jose didn't win a single MOTM award but went on to win the end of season award. I reckon the same will happen to Claudio from now until the end of the season.
Rincewind Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 I think he should get MOY regardless of whether City win the title. They have been top most of the year a great feat considering what happened last season. They have also played a lot of attractive football losing only twice so far. The other teams contending have had a hit and miss season losing to teams below them that they should beat as champions. The only team close to City's form are Spurs.
Fox92 Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Why are you counting their FA cup game? Pretty certain its Premier League results only I thought that - and we didn't even progress either.
Benji Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Beat Arsenal on Sunday and he'll be quaffing champagne until season end.
