Arsenal Post Match Thread 2 - 1

Proud of the lads today.

Didn't like Welbeck and Chambers? completely unmarked for the winner.

Most shaky I've seen Fuchs in sometime but level of opposition was prob down to that.

Chambers 1-on-1 with Vardy, shits himself and kicks it out of play. Pisser

No sour grapes on my part, but I do not feel that I saw an Arsenal side that will be marching towards the Premiership title come May. Their key players - Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud - were poor. Mertesacker, Chambers and Monreal were liabilities by the back (if we had eleven on the pitch, I reckon their fragility would have been exposed). Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ramsey are vastly overrated players, who really should be playing for the likes of Everton and Southampton.

I'm not suggesting that we will win it, but I saw nothing today that makes me think that Arsenal will be at the front of the queue.

Rather than blaming Was for the tackle why don't people look at our defending for the free kick instead!?

There was 3 Arsenal players lining up for the header with no Leicester player around them! For some bizzare reason we switched off for it after defending so well for the whole second half

Okay so I've calmed, fixed the remote and thrown the remains of the cat in the bin....

A gutting way to lose but...id be more worried if I was an Arsenal fan, we didn't even play to our best potential yet they couldn't get though us 11v11. As we grew more tired our concentration lapsed and they took full advantage of that...points from the game.

We have the best striker in the league.

The best midfield in the league.

The best defence in the league.

The best goalkeeper in the league (more recently proven granted).

And we also have the best manager in the league...we also have the desire to kick on...don't think for one minute that this result will harm the lads, it won't..it will merely spur them on the savagely tear Norwich apart.

We're two points clear, have taken six points SIX points from Liverpool, City and Arseolenal....with a relatively safe run in. Arsenal will lose to Man united next week and we will win...

Keep the faith people. It's our year.

God everyone is so biased. Simpson had been committing fouls all game and they were all over us once we went down to ten men.

Thought if we'd had 11v11 we'd have won.

Wasilewski is an idiot, just close the game out man.

Kante is fantastic.

Why did we let De Laet go?

Doesn't deserve a thread of its own but

This time last year we were bottom

Unless Villa can score 3 in the 2nd half, we cant finish bottom -mathematically

I'm not sure many, this time last year, were convinced we wouldn't finish bottom.

Perspective - it's all about perspective.

I have no idea why but this has hit me with a Deeney sized hole, I'm devastated!

We didn't deserve that and knowing we were just one more clearance away from a well earned point is gutting.

We're still in a great position, I just hope Claudio and the boys get pick themselves up after that

People moaned we needed to upgrade Simpson and we bought Amartey, CR already said he will be ready so he gets his chance if not Simpson comes back in

11v11 we would of definitely held out for the win or a loss at worst.

Kaspers save against Giroud in the second half..... Whew!!! Quality!!!

Why wasn't he on the bench today?

With Simpson banned, how about Fuchs at right back and Chillwell left back? Is Schlupp on his way back from inury?

Because if RDL came on we would of been opened up like we did at home. Was went for a challenge in the air and Arsenal got the decision in their favour as every challenge in the second half. He had a good game against Sanchez.

Very disappointing the ref ruined the came sending of Simpson it wasn't a foul it was those imaginary card wielding tw@s getting him sent off !!

Then Wasyl Feds you didn't need to clatter him but it's not all over the bubble is still ok and it wouldn't be Leicester city if we didn't have a wobble or an incident of any sort but we're still in the title race !!

Also when is Amarty due to come in because he looks quality !!

I'm not worried !!!

Yet ! lol;)

The penalty in real time is a penalty, slowed down you can see we were fortunate to get it, difficult decision from the referee who had a tough game with diving from both sides (mahrez as much as we love him was playing for that penalty, those actions of an opposition player would have infuriated us).

Nothing really to cause great cause for concern, a loss to Norwich would worry me more. Arsenal did well to persevere and a moment of rare madness from Wasyl proved decisive, all those calling for Wasyl to be removed from the side....just recall the guys performances for us in recent seasons, the guy has been as committed and consistent as those around him overall. Simpson was the real cause of the demise even if the second booking was a little soft.

Impressed how disciplined and dangerous we look since we last played Arsenal, the dream goes on...

My grapes are sour.. I don't think that Simpson should have been sent off and even if he should have what cock did to mahrez should have been a second yellow. 11 v 11 I think we win that game.

Something that I didn't mention in my previous post was how quickly my emotion changed at the end of the game - it went from huge disappointment to toe curling-cringing at the lap of honor Arsenal did at the end of the game.

They had just beaten Leicester.

Who had 10 men.

To go 2nd.

Two points behind the leaders.

A genuinely embarrassing football club

Losing cup finals is heartbreaking; losing the play-off the way we did at Watford was heartbreaking.

Losing narrowly, for only the third time this season, a result that still sees us two points clear, is merely disappointing.

Ok maybe not heartbreaking but very disappointing considering it was the last chance of the game.

Because he's a liability defensively

Like we wouldn't have done the same.

For me the foul that got him sent off didn't warrant a sending off but a final warning between the two cards. That said you're right but Arsenal clearly set out to pressure the ref into sending someone off with Simpson being the major target. The way one of their rolled around after an absolutely innocuous challenge early on only highlighted the intent.

To be fair, when Simpson committed the second offence I had a feeling that the ref would send him off. Had it been at home, I think he would have got away with it

They acted like they won the Champions League final, so embarrassing to see
