Raj Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I'm TELLING you it WILL happen if we've done it by then. The club ain't gonna let everyone know are they?
st albans fox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I'm TELLING you it WILL happen if we've done it by then. The club ain't gonna let everyone know are they? Not everyone at this point raj - no. depends who you are talking to I guess. whilst everyone knows what would make sense, there is precedent for both directions from those at the top of the game. anyway, nothing would be officially announced until we have won it which is just under four weeks away.
Larry_LCFC Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Why are people struggling to grasp this? There is no way they would present the trophy away at Chelsea if it is won by the Everton home game. Why would they? Where's the bigger story going to be - at the KP.
Vlad the Fox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 On a personal note I hope it gets moved to the Sunday otherwise I could face a dilemma of missing my best friends wedding on the Saturday or the possible chance of Leicester lifting the Premier League trophy for the first time. Go to the footy, your mate will have other weddings and hopefully he'll have the decency to make sure they don't clash with future championship winning matches and cup finals that we're involved in.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 If we win by the Everton game the trophy will be presented to us after that game. I was told by the club this would not be the case.
m4DD0gg Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I have heard that as Chelsea are 'champions' until the final day of the season then the trophy is given at the end of the last match.....hope i am wrong.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Why are people struggling to grasp this? Probably becasue there's no evidence either way and everyone, including you, is just speculating.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 You are wrong, the trophy is always presented at the last home game of the season if the league has been won by then. They even have a replica trophy in case more than one team are in it on the last day.
kingcarr21 Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Would Sky have a say in when its presented. Surely the story of having the trophy presented at Stamford Bridge with Ranieri holding it up in the air to an onlooking Abramovich is something they would very much want to happen?
stripeyfox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 The club have no say on when it will happen so no point asking them. The last thing they'd want to do is make any sort of nod that it was happening and risk looking stupid if we blow it. The trophy presentation will be arranged by the league, not the club(s) involved. It WILL happen at the Everton match IF we win the league before, or on that date. End of story
stripeyfox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Probably becasue there's no evidence either way and everyone, including you, is just speculating. Surely the "evidence" is the numerous previous instances of trophy presentations taking place at clubs last home games?
stripeyfox Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 I have asked the club for this info and, no surprise, they don't know the answer. I'm not phoning reception either. I hope the club are pushing for it to happen but fear it may be a locked door. we need to stress that the game is for the supporters, not the suits. If there is no news on this and it looks as if our win is certain, then perhaps we need to petition the PL directly as fans. telephone and email. annoy them to the extent that they have to give in. You are asking the wrong people. It is nothing to do with the club(s). The Premier League are the people you should ask.
Ricey Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Apparently Saturday 5.30 is Sky's biggest TV audience, so that'll be why they want it then. Shame, as it increases the chances of it being decided on a day we aren't playing.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Surely the "evidence" is the numerous previous instances of trophy presentations taking place at clubs last home games? Well, as I said, I was only passing on what I was told: "I think a lot of supporters are desperate to get a ticket for Everton but there is still a lot of matches to be played between now and then. I also think supporters think that should the Club be successful in staying where we are, that we will get the trophy on that day but that will not be the case."
