Best ever manager

Still put oneill first for now, because he brought in a great era, in the clubs history.

Claudio has been great, and to win the only top league trophy in our history would be amazing, have a good season next season, a good league position and a cup, Claudio in my eyes, will be the best ever manager.

Certainly not NP. He did a brilliant job for us but is not the 'best ever'. Frank O'Farrell and Martin O'Neill did wonderful things. I would find it hard to compare them to somebody doing something amazing in just one season.

I loved Nigel Pearson but he isn't even top three. Gillies, O'Neill and Bloomfield all did more, for example.

Ranieri already goes straight to the top of the list for me anyway. How could he not?

Let's not pretend Ranieri isn't already. (Unless we collapse to 3rd or something), but a top 2 finish and he has to be.

MON was a very good manager for us, but come on? Finishing 8th-10th and winning a couple of League Cups isn't in the same league as this season. This is the season that will live with us all on our deathbeds.

Even if we got relegated next season and Ranieri left he would still be the greatest ever. No question about it in my mind.

If we win the bloody league Ranieri will definately go down as the greatest ever... Even if next season will go balls up...

Just look at all that green. After each of the 3 losses we've gone on tremendous unbeaten runs, we're breaking all sorts of club records, we've already qualified for the Champions League with 5 games remaining and we're well on course to double last seasons' points tally with a very similar squad. Ranieri is a perfect fit for us and has already given us way more than we could have ever hoped for. He's the best manager we've ever had.

If we do manage to do the unthinkable and win the league this year, would Claudio become our best ever manager, or is that accolade still for MON or NP? Just a thought and bit of fun

I think the best manager would go to whoevers had the greatest ever achievement,so Claudio ranieri fits that bill, mon gave us some great years,

As has Nigel Pearson,I personally will forever be great full to what Nigel pearson set in place for cr

If we win the league then Ranieri will become our greatest ever manager easily, followed by O'Neill. I'm not sure why you mentioned Pearson in front of managers like Gillies and Bloomfield though. IF we win the league then Ranieri, O'Neill, Gillies, Bloomfield, Pearson in that order for me.

Pearson did nothing for us. He didn't bring us out of the third tier at the first attempt, didn't win the Championship in style, didn't pull off the greatest escape ever, didn't build a world class sports science and fitness team, didn't employ Steve Walsh as recruitment manager, didn't sign Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Vardy or Albrighton.

Gillies is the best ever for me but if we win the league it has to be Reneri... We've never won the top flight before.

If we win the league and then get tonked 10-0 all season next year there might be a debate but yeah I think Ranieri is masterminding our greatest achievement.

If we win the league then has to be Claudio as to be so consistently good over so many games of a season, in a league full of some of the best players in the world, is an incredible achievement, greater than any cup win(s).

If we can keep this team together and add to it as smartly as we have with Gray and Amartey, then there is no reason we can't have another strong season next season and be pushing for top 6 and even upset a few in the champions league!

If we do bomb next year (which I highly doubt with these players), then perhaps people will say Claudio was riding a wave but I still think what he could achieve this year will make him the greatest ever. How lucky are we to be experiencing this right now?!   :scarf:
