smr Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Kante for me, realistically Mahrez will win it I reckon.
Kitchandro Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 For me Vardy should win it, as great as Mahrez has been he disappears, something that Vardy rarely does. I'd agree with this. I think Mahrez will win it though. I wouldn't complain if Payet won it tbh. He's got everything.
LCFC FOX Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 The reason I don't think Mahrez deserves it is because he's out of too many games. I'm not saying he's not had an outstanding season or slating him I just think Vardy and Kante deserve it a lot more as I can't think of too many games where they've looked shite. Where as Mahrez he looks lazy in quite a few. I know he's got a good goals/assists before anyone tells me because he's brilliant on his day. It's just not consistent in my opinion.
Fox42 Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 For me, Kanté has been the most consistent. He would get my vote.
Staffs Fox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Why wasn't Kante in young players list? Because he's 25, I think it's for under 23's
Shelf Side Spurs Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Team of the year anyone? with a bit of rationale.... De Gea (obviously prefer Lloris, also Schmeichel and Butland worth a shout, but De Gea has kept United from being mid table?) Clyne (Cresswell, maybe I couldn't pick a gooner, but Bellerin has been good) Alderweireld (has to be in there somewhere) Morgan (Smalling/Huth alternatives..Vertonghen) Fuchs (shout out for Bertrand and maybe Rose? Baines isn't doing it any more) Kante (brilliant all season, along with Dier who's also done it with England) Dembele (best season at Spurs and has had similar opposition in his pocket, Drinkwater possibly, Henderson too inconsistent, Milner, Schneiderlin, no thanks) Tricky one.....but for me Mahrez (no contest) Eriksen (probably Ozil...but he's a gooner) Payet (no contest) Mention for Coutinho, Kane (because he scores the same amount as Vardy but contributes more all over the pitch? Vardy for being ruthless and setting the new record. Aguero not at the races this year, worthy mention to Lukaku) Not a City or Chelsea player in sight........even with all that money ha ha!
Stevosevic Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Vardy for me. Doesn't go missing as much as Mahrez and is more important to our style of play. Plus it would be great story.
digitalalba Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 1 Vardy - His goals and desire have tipped it for me so far 2 Kante - Work rate is second to none. A better goal tally would've put him first 3 Marez - Goals and assists phenomanal, lack of game play consistency costs him top spot 4 Drinkwater - Almost in Kante's class 5 Fuchs - Best left back we've ever had! 6 Huth - Solid, albeit a little lucky not to be sent off a few times 7 Albrighton - Mr consistency, albeit on a better than average level 8 Schmeichel - same again 9 Morgan - Nervy, reliable, consistent, inconsistent, captain?? 10 Okazaki - Goal tally and assists fairly poor, but works hard and is key in certain areas 11 Simpson - hard to beat the above ten, arguably one of our best right backs ever
Munshi Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 16 goals and 11 assists, how can it be anyone other than Mahrez.
foxy boxing Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 vardy because he has broke records 11 consecutive games scored in and getting 20+goals this season
foxes21 Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Think it will be Vardy, just because of the story, the 'fairytale' and all that. Kante deserves it though IMO.
Munshi Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Never thought id see the day 3 Leicester players have been nominated for POTY in the premier league and all three of them deserve it as much as the other
Captain... Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 I would vote for Kante, we play so much better with him in the side, he makes the whole team tick, along with Drinkwater, the 2 of them get the best of most 3 man midfields. I think Mahrez will win it, because people don't see every minute of every game, and his highlight reel is phenomenal, not just the goals and the assists, but the nutmegs and the tricks. More importantly his goals have won us so many points this season. Kante and Drinkwater are the engine, but Mahrez is the difference maker his goals, and Vardy's, win us the points the back 4 and the midfield make those goals so much more valuable by keeping clean sheets. To do what Mahrez has done so often, which is do something no other player would even try and for it to come off, and to have that level of end product is astonishing. Only Leicester fans will think of the 4 points his missed penalties have cost us and the many times this season he has frustrated us. In my personal ratings I would put Vardy just ahead of Mahrez on sheer effort, Vardy had his dry spell, but when he wasn't scoring he was assisting, wrking hard and creating enough doubt in the opposition defence that they couldn't commit men forwards which took the pressure off the rest of the team.
Fox 4 Life Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 I think people forget (as it happened last year) that Vardy broke a premier league record this season. For me anyone that does that and then goes on to score more than 20 deserves player of the year 16 goals and 11 assists, how can it be anyone other than Mahrez. 21 goals and 6 assists = same return from Vardy!
An Away Move Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Kanté would be a good outside bet for those who wish to put money on it. Mahrez has amazing stats for his position but Kanté is one for the football connoisseurs and players are voting for this.
zealot Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 The reason I don't think Mahrez deserves it is because he's out of too many games. For me, Kanté has been the most consistent. He would get my vote. Exactly - agree with both those points. Mahrez has been phenomenal but is getting marked out of games at the moment so his impact is being suppressed somewhat. Kante should win - the guy has been immense and consistent this season in almost every game he has played. He starts everything we do. Before the assist comes Kante winning the ball for us by somehow out-muscling others. He's like a souped-up Makelele. All the incredible combative ball-winning move-starting skills yet with pace who can also move forward and get the odd goal. I hope he stays with us at least to give us one-more season (as can see Real, Barca or Juve circling in the summer) he'll be priceless useful in European games. In fact, maybe I'll pop into the bookies on the way home for a bet on France to win the Euros!
ScouseFox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 it's mahrez all day long. he's been the best player in the league this year. pretty straight forward.
ealingfox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 Arguing over which of our players should get Player of the Year because half of the shortlist play for us oh wow
Fennec-Fox Posted 13 April 2016 Posted 13 April 2016 In all fair play, Kane should win it... Mahrez and Vardy compliment esch other .
