4 of the remaining teams want us to win it?

I know that West Ham and Chelsea are with us. Man Utd I would have thought the same. Swansea players apparently want us to do it also. Everton - no idea. Could this help us or will these teams play a normal game against us? Maybe we would rather win it fair and square with teams going at full tilt?

Over half of them still have some aspiration of qualifying for Europe through their league position I'd have thought, certainly don't think any of them are going to let us win. If only.

It would be nice to think that they would but realistically they are professionals and want to win Football matches (unless they play for V*lla!) & therefore will approach games trying to win. No chance of teams not giving 100% against us.

There is giving 100% and then there is giving 110%.

All teams are full of professionals, and nobody likes losing, but there is that motivation to bust your gut in the dying minutes to win the ball, prevent a corner, put your head where it hurts.

We will have it, Swansea, Everton and Chelsea won't, United's season might be done by then, with an FA cup final looming. West Ham will be deflated and tired after last night and could be 8 points off Man City in 4th.

I want them to try and beat us.

Dont want anyone crying about us winning the league in years to come because Chelsea 'let' us win.

Bang on. No team will lay down and give us a result but it will be evident come the final 15 minutes of a game when we're going hell for leather and the other team is tiring and has no real motivation to go above and beyond.

The last 5 or 6 games of a season are so boring if you're mid table and have a load of dead rubbers to play.

We'll lay down and give you a result, we've been doing that all season.

All jokes aside, if you go on the Shed End forum most of our fans on that are even saying they hope you beat us if it means Tottenham/Arsenal lose out on the title.

Should Everton beat Manure in the Semi, they will have 3 matches in 8 days followed by the Final just a further 6 days later.

Being safe in the league, a lot may depend on which matches they prioritise.

Most times the team that wants it more wins... But you do get games where a team has little to nothing to play for beating teams that are playing for everything and the team with nothing to play for wins... Usually because of pressure on the other team and little or no pressure on the other team.

If it comes to the last day and we need to beat Chelsea, I can see there players wanting us to win it but due to big game nerves...

Personally I don't think pressure will affect us adversely at all. We seem to thrive in these situations.

No one is going to smply let us win, but very few of the teams we have left to face having anything to play for....

Their lack of motivation might help us, not a lack of professionalism....

The fans might want it, not sure the players/management will.

The players might not actively want a leicester win on the final day, but their season is over; they'll have nothing to play for, fans not necessarily behind them and praying for a leicester win and all they'll really be concerned about is not getting injured and missing the euros. Suffice to say that they'll be going through the motions more than anything when we end up down there.

Does anyone know if the FA Cup semi's go to a replay?

i hope and dont think our players/manager will have this mindset.

possibly a team like swansea will be safe after a disappointing season and wont give a fúck about losing to us but they're hardly going to let us win!

A lot of threads and comments about this sort of thing. Are we not the best team in the league? If we play to our best we'll beat all these sides anyway. It's not like we need favours.

I hope a couple of them are deflated but they're not going to just let us win.

Manchester United have got something important to play for still, so have West Ham.

They might prefer us to win it (West Ham and Spurs do passionately hate each other) but they aren't going to roll over at the expense of their own potential finish. West Ham are pushing 4th ffs.

Swansea and Southampton last year were not interested at all when they played us at the back end. Can you see players in the Everton and Chelsea teams jepordising a Euro place with their national team by going in for a 50/50 with Huth??
