David Hankey Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Roy got it right. Vardy was impeded by Ogbonna. My only disagreement; it was a penalty and Moss, as on many occasions last Sunday, got it wrong.
The Doctor Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Surely the fact Moss has no game this weekend is an indication the FA know he messed up? Or maybe he's too faaaat to be a 4th official and have a game in the same few days He's got a game tonight, and is the fourth official for one of the fa cup semis. Besides, reffing Thursday-Saturday would be nigh on impossible even if he were fit - clubs don't have that sort of turn around between fixtures after all.
Fox 4 Life Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 He's got a game tonight, and is the fourth official for one of the fa cup semis. Besides, reffing Thursday-Saturday would benighted on impossible even if he were fit. Fair enough, good luck Arsenal! I'm sure he'll be the picture of sanity tonight and hand out no cards!
HighPeakFox Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 I'm sorry to say, it is right and he should be banned. You can't put your finger in someones face and called them what he did and get away with it. Not just on a football pitch. There are kids that watch these games, and it's not just Vardy many players are constantly in the refs face swearing. It's not the "grappling in the box" that should be cracked down on, its the decent. You can understand that he was frustrated and the heat of the moment etc.. and he shouldn't have had his 1st yellow etc.. but if you take the swearing and gesturing as its own incident, he has no defence. I want to know if his dissent was decent or indecent........... Yeah, now it's grammatical excellence... There's grammar, and then there's just the wrong damn word altogether.
st albans fox Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 So does Roy's opinion count? Not unless he's on the panel! Sadly the charge is nothing to do with the right or wrong of the decision. It's to do with the dissent that followed with the abuse and finger pointing. I guess do the panel judge that to be worth a yellow or a red. If he doesn't get an extra game then the n London mafioso will go nuts. I'm not sure why the FA had to issue the charge on Monday afternoon. Surely they had longer than that to come to a decision? Just like moss, they went too early. Having brought the charge, they need to impose the sanction. Otherwise they appear to be condoning pointing in a refs face and calling him a ducking skunk. it will be two games. Roy is simply doing what may good manager does and defending his player.
Nalis Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 So is today the day we find out how long the ban is for?
Grewks Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 From a neutral point of view, he really should get an extra game ban when looking at past precedent. If it was kane as spurs we would be desperate to see him suspended.
Jimothy Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 So is today the day we find out how long the ban is for? Won't it be tomorrow? He has until 6pm tonight to contest the charge, so surely they won't announce a decision whilst he can still argue the whole charge.

If it was kane as spurs we would be desperate to see him suspended. If it was Kane, the ref wouldn't have been able to understand him, and there's no way you could lip read him.

Steven Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Leicester’s Jamie Vardy acted naturally and is being wronged, says Hodgson I always thought Woy was a top manager and a top man.
nnfox Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 This has got interesting. Roy Hodgson's comments has really put the cat amongst the pigeons. On one hand the FA have to stick up for the refs and maintain standards. It was all going to be straight forward. Now though, one of the most influential, respected voices within the FA has come out and basically said that if Moss had done his job properly we wouldn't be talking about this. I'd be tempted to appeal to be honest.

Babylon Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 So that is 16 days? Which Would be tues may 2nd after the man united game. I'd imagine it will be done before that. They'lll want it doing before the game after the original ban.
ian_marshall Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Roy has definitely said all the right things to appeal this charge, although the FA are on dangerous ground if they don't take action. I wonder given Roy's comments particularly around Vardy's conduct after the incident whether there is scope to impose a heavy financial penalty with a suspended ban, of which failure to control future conduct towards a referee may lead to a straight 2 game ban. I know people have highlighted precedent given the FA's handling of Costa and Gabriel, but they also awarded Mourinho a suspended ban earlier this season (http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10035482/fa-reveals-reasons-for-jose-mourinho-fine-and-suspended-ban) so I wouldn't rule this option out completely especially now one of the most symbolic figures within their organisation has spoken in favour of the player.

Make out the is sympathetic to Vardy so that we appeal. The FA don't have to listen to Woy, and on appeal they crank it up to 3 matches. Roy then doesn't take Vardy to Euros cos of his behaviour. He'll then claim the article was taken out of context and he never said that.

shiv Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Totally agree with Woy, and to be honest I'm not surprised by his comments. He sat near me on Sunday and was visibly unimpressed by Moss' decision. My dad also went up to him and said "great goal by Vardy hey?". His response was "I hope he does that at the euros". You better start him up front then Woy
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Seems it's made a few of the back pages of tomorrow's papers too. Let's hope he can swing this in our favour. "Hodgson's shock verdict". As if you speak for the people! Bloody London rags.
ealingfox Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Is there any way we can stall them for a few weeks by pratting around with appeals and that?
Ric Flair Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 If Vardy didn't play for Leicester would we like him? He's not a very likable character is he? He comes across as a classless scrubber but I thoroughly respect the way he's succeeded in his life. I wish I had his determination. But I can see why the general feeling is of dislike to the man as he's just a weasel and there's now been a few things to compound this opinion for folk. He's ours though and I love him, warts and all. That doesn't mean he can get away with anything but morals in football are low and have been for quite some time. He'll win us this league in the final 2 games. He'll then go on to rip new rizholes in the summer for England too. He is relentless.
