KP Fox Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Imagine the tears flowing down the stands when Knocky and Estaban walk out at half time with the Birch on Saturday. I thought Knockhart was playing for Brighton on Saturday in the battle of ex city players to win automatic promotion.
Corky Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Cambiasso came here because of the "lure" of the Premiership. Unfortunately he never had any intention of staying. He played a mere 33 games for Leicester City and scored 5 goals yes, I agree, with many good performances but for folk to say he is legend and one of our greatest players in 132 years of history is stretching the point somewhat. That's not really the point. We had a bloke who needed a couple of suitcases to bring his trophies and medals with him to play in a likely relegation battle and he played as if his career reputation depended on it. He gave absolutely everything in those matches and was a key part of us surviving.
Jace Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Any chance we can emergency loan him back for the last 2 games!?
1966fox Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 I think his influence started us on this unbelievable road to victory!
Guest bss9401 Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Esteban I will love you forever but you getting fat in that crappy Greek League my boy!

For the short time he spent at the club, he made the most of it and chipped in not just with (crucial) goals, but also added calmness, professionalism and experience. He was one of the most prestigious signings we've ever made and worth every penny. Looking back, a true win-win-win situation. People tend to forget what an impact such a signing can have on the rest of the team with regards to team morale and competition for places. It's not always what's on the pitch what matters, but also what happens outside of the football ground.

To consider Cambiasso 'a legend' is to insult the true legends of LCFC.

You're missing the point - I didn't contest the fact that the team on its own performed badly for almost three quarters of the 2014/2015 campaign. That's a given. In case it's flown over your head - we're debating the influence of Esteban Cambiasso and his talents as a (veteran) player. I've never claimed that he's a LCFC legend - who does? What you can't deny is that he's a legendary player and that he did have a particular impact on our team and its fortunes last season.
johnny the fox Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 The man is / was class... I am sure he will be buzzin for us !
Corky Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Cambiasso kept us up last year, Pearson is responsible for this season, Ranieri will take credit for the 9th place next campaign. I think.
ealingfox Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Danny Drinkwater has clearly learned a thing or two from the great man. The sprinkling of stardust he left around the place is all part of the rich tapestry that is this season.
UPinCarolina Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Cambiasso kept us up last year, Pearson is responsible for this season, Ranieri will take credit for the 9th place next campaign. I think. So Ranieri isn't the reason we won the Prem? Pearson is? You've been on the juice.
ramadaone Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Another one who was arguably more important to have around Mon to Fri than he was on a Sat afternoon Ask Drinky etc what they learnt just being around a guy like that and you'll realise what he brought to the club His influence will still be here for a few years to come
Lawshaw Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 I've been reading this forum for a decade without registering, but had to comment on this. As a North East based fan, I've never seen a better individual performance than Cambiasso at the Sunderland away match last year. He ruled the game. Not here this year, but his performances must have inspired the rest of the team.

worthosoriginals Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 That's why it's best not to drink special brew, kids
shailen Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 For me the greatest all round player to play at the KP. He had everything and along with Vardy was the catalyst for our great escape
trabuch Posted 3 May 2016 Posted 3 May 2016 Wrong thread - but I would love to see Knocky in the prem next season with Brighton. Oh and Cambiasso was a bit magic. Might have made Ranieri look at us.
