Inler Next Season

I have seen very little of him to really rate him. The game at home to Villa sticks out in my mind and he struggled to keep up with the game, made some bad passes and lost the ball a number of time. Yes he has experience on an international level but with his lack of game time this season I don't think he has had the chance to adapt to the premier league style.

I can see him leaving whether it being a permanent deal or a loan but Claudio might look to keep him in order to bolster the squads numbers, especially with champions league football next season.

He'll probably go. Can't say I'll be too fussed. Drinky, Kanté, King, James and Amartey fighting for two places is fine and we'll probably sign another for good measure.

He needs first team football. Will he get it?

It's only such players that I won't mind seeing leave. Seems fair really.

He might want to play regularly but I've never seen any indication that he should and don't see why we should accommodate him just to satisfy his Euro-ambitions.

I can't remember Inler shining in any one of his outings last season, nor do I think he naturally fits into our style of play.

I doubt he'll be here next season, and I don't think it will be any real loss.

It's funny how he was the biggest name we signed last summer, and he's barely featured. I'd never really seen him play, but he had a really big reputation.

I don't think he suits us or the PL, and he'll want to play first team football. We should be looking to find another DD or Kante type CM - someone with an engine and great passing or tackling ability.

Not really done anything this season (kept out of the team and not done much when he's had a chance) but you can't fault the guy on his attitude. Some people would have kicked off, especially after being bought in to 'replace' Cambiassio and then not getting a sniff. He's been a good character and always been positive around the other lads, so fair play for that. If he wants to play football he should probably go though.

Yeah, which is a shame, he was definitely the best player in the England v Switzerland game, so he can definitely play. This week I bought on of those unofficial celebratory t-shirts and it had the "squad" listed, including Inler, but there was no Dyer, who I would suggest made a far bigger (or at least more important) contribution to our season, particularly the winner versus Villa. Tempted to cross him out and just write Dyer on the shirt, but I feel it's a little harsh.

Should Inler stay or go next season. His style of football may well be suited to the Champions league if we need different options of play?

We will not change our style of play for the Champions League, we will play exactly the same way that has brought us success against some of the best teams in Europe this season. Do you really think we are going to slow down the pace and start passing sideways just because we are in the Chanpions League?

Shame. He signed on the back of many giving it the big un about how great he'd be and frankly he's been piss poor.

He might suit the Champions League, but I think he'll probably leave.

If he plays tomorrow I want to see what it is so many were shouting about.

He'll probably end up at Basel or the MLS.

Agreed and do we want to play the recognised continental way. If you play Barcelona football with Barcelona they'll beat you. A big part of how we won this year is because we played our way, albeit we had to adapt it at times near the end.

Like you and others, I don't think it would work for us to try to emulate others. Flexibility is always needed but our fundamental approach should be to adopt the style which has been so successful for us thus far, to improve it when possible and to make sure we have sensible tactical options together with a greater depth of player choice but all of them wed to the attitudes that have prevailed so well for so long. We've got our own identity which has already done us proud and I see no reason it shouldn't be tweaked and modified just like a successful formula One car. .

IMO the only reason he is still in our squad is because he knew he could be part of something big.
He will leave next season.

He has been the Premier League dissapointing equivalent of when we signed Danns on a free in the championship Col if you know what I mean

Probably be gone at the end of this season, Ranieri does keep mentioning the fact that we aren't going to keep 'unhappy' players and I bet he isn't happy at the moment.

Wouldn't be a loss tbh but still do think we need another central midfielder

Hard to be critical of him and his form as he has very limited time to show how he could play and fit in.  Our lack of injuries and the form of Drinky and Kante have been league winning, he just didn't get a chance.  Clearly he is a high level player and still could get a chance to show what he can do, but the Thinkerman stayed with what worked and many of our depth players never got a real chance.  They say don't change a winning formula.  We didn't and players like Inler were the losers from that.  Not that he didn't deserve to play, but the guys in front of him didn't deserve to be replaced.

Would be a useful backside on the bench and I think we're going to need him for European games, or we could paint him a different colour and tell some megga rich foeign club that he is N'Golo Kante......they'll never notice the difference

The club have hinted on their Twitter feed that matty James will get on the pitch today so that puts him on the bench. I wonder if Inler will even make the squad? I would have him playing - I want to see him running the tempo of the game like drinky does and if he can, he stays for next season. If he can't then it's back to Italy or perhaps to the bundesliga I reckon.
