Grey Fox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 It's in Arsenals interest to try and rush the deal through before we can get a chance to sit down with him and make a counter offer. They are using the England situation to try a pressure sell him IMO. They know he's happy here and if we match their offer he'd probably stay. So the best chance they have is make a last minute move, also knowing that most of our decision makers are on holiday or out of the country. Hoping they can force him to make a quick decision before we can persuade him to stay. Either that or Arsenal have fallen into a trap from his agent to force him a better deal. If you are trying to get an improved contract then it always helps to have a large offer from elsewhere on the table. It tends to sharpen the focus a little. As I said, we should be able to tell a lot more in the next 24 hours when he flies out to France.
49er Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Same old Arsenal in fairness Just hope they keep the carthorses at the back - Mertesacker, Chambers and Gabriel and the goal shy Goroud. Looks like Bellarin may be off to Barcelona to replace Alves.
bovril Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I can't believe people are trying to say Oasis were not as good after the first album? I'm crying right now. Oasis live forever Have I ever told you what I think of Paul Scholes?
Wakeyfox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 He is staying guys. His agent will get what he wants out of us. Magic. Thanks for clearing that up
ScouseFox76 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I gave up reading on page 75 yesterday, has anything else happened since?
Fox92 Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Just hope they keep the carthorses at the back - Mertesacker, Chambers and Gabriel and the goal shy Goroud. Looks like Bellarin may be off to Barcelona to replace Alves. Goal shy Giroud who has scored nearly 60 in 135 for them...
HankMarvin Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Why doesn't Vardy say anything? Chat shit get banged? oi Jap walk on?
Jimothy Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I gave up reading on page 75 yesterday, has anything else happened since? He signed a contract for both clubs, we get him for half a season each.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Got to be honest if we were about to shell out 20m + wage to a player who performed so poorly against Portugal i'd be concerned Whilst I appreciate that Claudio has got the Midas touch and he was (although not admitted by Woy) playing out of position I was flinching with embarrassment and pity. Obviously not that many tricks. As with England unless the game is geared to him he won't be of much value. Small fish
49er Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 He signed a contract for both clubs, we get him for half a season each. It's based on the Alan Smith transfer in the 1980s. We sell to Arsenal, they loan him back for a whole season so that he can help us win the league.
Babylon Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Why doesn't Vardy say anything? If he's going it's not for him to say.If he's still deciding what is there to say. If he's angling for a new contract, why ruin your bargaining position.

Obviously not that many tricks. As with England unless the game is geared to him he won't be of much value. Small fish But he was playing in a system that does not suit him. The Vardy way is the Leicester way. If you take out the potential for him to use his pace and to chase balls over the top, you end up with a fairly average play who has no impact on the game. That's what would happen if he goes to Arsenal. If he stays, his effectiveness and value will continue to increase.
Wymsey Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 No doubt Arsenal will approach his agent again in January, if he continues his form. That would be a worse time to sell him than now.

By then, we will have got through to the next stage of the Champions League and Arsenal would have been knocked out, so why would he leave?
Koke Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 I don't care anymore if he leaves or not. I'm not bothered. I'm actually very bored of it already and its only been going on since Friday. Only thing that bothers me is the fee. Shame we won't get more but it is what it is. We thank him for his great services and we move on.

Small fish Yeah let's ignore the 24 goals he scored this season, he was ineffective being played out wide by a dinosaur, so he's not worth the money
EGBFitness Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 The only ones that I would be concerned about leaving if we don't up their salaries as a result of Vardy's new contract would be Kante, Drinkwater and Mahrez I think that's why what happens with Vardy is such an important move by the club. They either stick to their guns and let him rot away at Arsenal or potentially give in to player pressure and could see other agents matching or trying to out do each other - I guess it's one of the down sides to our success but hopefully the club deal with it in the right way
filbertstreet Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Yeah let's ignore the 24 goals he scored this season, he was ineffective being played out wide by a dinosaur, so he's not worth the money That's what'll happen if he moves to Arsenal though
theessexfox Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 That's what'll happen if he moves to Arsenal though I think if Wenger plans to play him out wide then yes it is a total waste of money, you'd like to think that the manager of a top 4 club has something of a brain though.
Koke Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 no,you do Hah. I'm honestly so bored of it. Just sign for Arsbal already and let us look for a new striker. Vardy isn't the most endearing person so he's never been one of my favourite players in this side to begin with. I'm a bit "meh" about it all now.
Ozwin Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Waiting for this all to be confirmed as just an elaborate ploy for more money.
EGBFitness Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Just hope they keep the carthorses at the back - Mertesacker, Chambers and Gabriel and the goal shy Goroud. Looks like Bellarin may be off to Barcelona to replace Alves. Haha yeah they can keep them Giroud is far too inconsistent to be considered a stand out name within the Arsenal side who have had a history of world class strikers
