Arsenal offered Liverpool £1 more than Suarez's release clause but there wasn't a deal.

That much money for a near 30 year old. thats my thoughts too, paying £20+mil for Vardy and as you said, him being nearly 30 too, doesnt seem very Arsenal to me, given they'd just spent £30 odd mil on a new midfielder
