Thailand 2016

Its all feels a bit forced, but you can't really argue when they have been such great owners.

I think Vichai has got where he is by bending with the political wind, and if making a big fuss in may Bangkok is helps him, by increasing Thailand's (and his) status and prestige, we will just have to suck it up.

I'm not saying this as a great authority on matters Thai, just bits I've picked up. Check out Thailand's turbulent recent political history on Wiki.

here is what we need to do? Anyone wanting to support the club in any way shape or form , who as a consequence purchases club merchandise and therefore puts money into the club (which the club will be able to use to sustain the club going forward) should not be allowed to do so unless they pass a "LCFC theory test " this could include simple questions like naming the players photos to history questions about the clubs past.

For example when we played Man U at old Trafford I went to the counting house to watch the game and btw the atmosphere in there was great but I said to my 75 year old Mum who had been getting rather excited about the season for her to join us there, but every fookin 5 mins or so she kept saying,"who's that " whenever a Leicester player got the ball. That did it for me ,I told her to not talk to me throughout the game I was having enough of a breakdown with the prospect of us potentially winning the league let alone having my old Mum asking me who all the players were.

That's it no more bandwagon fans please!!!

Relatives included !!!!!!!

If we want the club to maintain our upward profile we need to get used to this. We have fantastic owners who habe given us an amazing few years already. We should be happy that we are becoming a globally known club, in fact if we are really smart we should be delirious about this. Every fan we have picked up in this most magical of seasons raises our profile and our attractiveness to sponsors. This translates into more cash for our beloved club. The owners have demonstrated their willingness to invest vast amounts of money into building a solid platform for the club to grow, even when the club was stumbling in the Championship. I am confident that will continue to invest further in the club and we are all going to benefit from this. We can look forward to signing hungry top class players that want to come here because the club is run so well and the chances of winning trophies and making good money are so good. Good decisions in the next few months on adding playing personal ( in Walshie the owners trust) and solidifying our position by doing well in the CL and the League this coming season ( In Ranieri the owners trust) means we can look forward to a future for LCFC that would have been unimaginable even two years ago.

We have won the lottery with our fantastic owners. They are smart, genuinely good people who clearly love this club and City.

I am a City fan who grew up in Birstall and supported the club since the age of seven. Living in the Hawaii it blows my mind how many people have followed Leicesters magical season this year. Just yesterday I was in a home improvement store and a worker heard my English accent and immediately wanted to talk about Leicester. He got even more animated when I told him I was a lifetime Leicester fan. Got a call from a friend in Detroit today and he knew everything about the team and he wasn't even a soccer fan until he started watching Leicester play this year.

We should welcome every new fan with open arms. We all had to start our love affair with the club sometime.

It is great our profile is being raised in Asia.  Working in Malaysia, as I do part-time, it is fantastic that Leicester are now on the radar.  Not sure we will make too much money from Merchandise though as 99% of football shirts worn in Malaysia/Thailand are copies.

But the Asian exposure will however bring in new sponsorship opportunities, which is obviously more revenue into the Club.

I know your right :P Just not a fan of bandwagon jumping. As you say though, atleast it's more money for us I suppose.

Luckily people who know me and even old school friends(I'm 45) know I've always supported Leicester, but because of my non Leicester accent and no connections,I am starting to get a few "how long have you supported them, since Xmas" I get in a bit of a strop explaining that I've seen us lose away to shite,I've got tickets and programmes from years back and them wishing they had never asked.

But it does really wind me up.

Surely Mahrez has his own gym and doesn't need to use a public one?

You would have thought, but he does like a game of tennis!

Great post!

As much as I enjoyed the League One campaign, it seems like some would prefer us back there.

Actually as far as King Power are concerned, it probably doesn't matter that the shirts are fake if they still have "King Power" written on them - good advertising for them.

Whilst this doesn't directly benefit the club, it makes it of more value to the owners who may then be more inclined to invest in the stadium, etc.

I'm in tenerife atm. The other night i was walking through the town in my leicester shirt when a group at a table gave me a little cheer, I just smiled back at them. As soon as i was past them I heard one of them say"I bet he wasnt there when they were nobodies" I shouted back at him "yes I was". It really annoyed me.

They missed this.

Fake fans paid to cheer Leicester City during Bangkok victory parade Thai King Power employees paid £10 to attend the parade

I've had a fair bit of stick on FB today about this from mates who support other teams. I laughed it off but actually I find it quite embarrassing (if it's true). Lets be honest, if it was any other team out there parading the trophy whilst paying fans to attend and cheer, we'd be royally taking the piss out of them.

Or the probable truth, that they asked their employees to work casual overtime for a fixed remuneration and help organise and conduct the parade.

I'm having all my season tickets over the years tattooed on my arms.

That makes more sense. Not really a headline grabber though is it!

I'm not sure if you can label King Power employees per se as "fake fans". To some extent and knowing they're the club's main sponsor, they must've all been following this frantic season, jumping onboard the bandwagon at one point.

The Sun are just desperate to create another scandal to milk. And I find that embarrassing.

Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't even "thousands" that got paid, but maybe merely a few hundred.

Also, I'd consider this an event with little to no precedent. I can't recall Chelsea parading the PL trophy in South Korea (Samsung) or Russia (Abramovich/Gazprom), or Arsenal taking it to Japan (JVC, Dreamcast). Or did anyone ever see Manchester United showing off in Japan (Sharp) or the US (AIG)?
