Becareful what you say about Mel he may want to bump into you

Mel Moult wants to calm down. Imagine how much his view would be obscured if he copped a stadium ban for 'bumping' into someone.

He used "twats" in his comments, so he's not been exactly polite and courteous in his views.

apologised already

I'm hearing Mel burst cheese's inflatable dinosaur.

I heard Mel complained some Blind Italian bloke ruined the usual warm up music against Everton last season

Anyone remember those days in the early nineties when those huge sheets of fabric were pulled over heads in the kop? Great fun but it was in an era before some people were upset and offended by everything.

Can't believe people would moan about something so irrelevant.

Not even irrelevant, but coordinated for the sole purpose of improving the fan experience.

Can't believe we're on page 12!

Bloody hell, this has all got a bit silly now hasn't it. Mel might be a bit of a pillock, but people need to be adult enough to just laugh it off and get on with things and carry on what they're doing. The display looked great, but you can't please everyone. Whenever I see criticism, I try to remember this quote/these points. It might help a few here or at least bring a laugh lol

Quote

“1. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the things they read (or watch, or listen to, or taste, or whatever). They’re also entitled to express them online.

2. Sometimes those opinions will be ones you don’t like.

3. Sometimes those opinions won’t be very nice.

4. The people expressing those may be (but are not always) assholes.

5. However, if your solution to this “problem” is to vex, annoy, threaten or harrass them, you are almost certainly a bigger asshole.

6. You may also be twelve.

7. You are not responsible for anyone else’s actions or karma, but you are responsible for your own.

8. So leave them alone and go about your own life."

You are so far wide of the mark it's laughable. Cliquey? Ask the guy that turned up early on saturday as a 'newbie', and was welcomed and integrated, and now feels like a totally valued member. Ultras? FFS, I'm 64, hardly 'ultra' material, and I'm proud to be a member of the best City supporters group since the Hinckley Mob back in the 60's. Don't slag the group off mate, come and get involved, and see what a fine bunch of - mainly - young, passionate supporters they are. If it wasnt for UFS, I seriously wouldnt bother. Best part of 300 miles round trip for me to see a game,

I'm not calling UFS cliquey or wannabe ultras, I have seen UFS get called that on here.

For what it is worth I think they have been amazing for the club and I show my Arsenal supporting colleague at work what they have done and he is green with envy.

What I want is to see these get bigger and better and UFS to get the recognition they deserve.

What I don't want to see is fans turning on UFS and the club withdrawing support. People have got way to defensive when ever someone has a contrary opinion to UFS and I know it isn't always UFS members but external observers don't know the difference and will view everyone slagging off Mel as representing the group. An official response to Mel and others on social media that was conciliatory would have been the way forwards, ask Mel to join up have his say. Make it clear that you do not want to obstruct anybody's enjoyment of the game, but that you will continue organising these displays with the backing of the club.

Don't let this turn into an us vs them situation and cause rifts in the fan base.

Yeah let's just forget about the few negative comments and donate loads of wonga please lol

Seriously I hear funds are pretty low after this so it would be nice to get a healthy total for the next display.  Whenever that might be.

Thanks to all those who have already donated.

lol is the next one likely to be a CL game, or do the club plan to do their own for that?

As for the donating part, I'll see if I have any money left after Thursdays Draw.

But seriously, the Captain has a point, I think the people complaining are mad personally, but the large banners at the front, maybe something you need to consider moving forward if you don't want to cause a shit storm, which is a real shame, because, I'd love to get to the point where the club allow a full on pulley one that covers the kop.

Although you may need a few more donations for something on that scale lol

All depends on cash flow mate!

Ignoring funds tho, i meant my guess from the outside is the club will try a 4 stand one for the opening home game, no?

Mel Moult. lol

I honestly feel for the poor souls that have their view BEFORE the game obstructed by a giant tifo worth hundreds of working hours and that is adored both by local fans as well as the opposition's and finds its picture on online forums worldwide.

How about starting a "Save the Mel" campaign?

Alternatively, we could find Mel a new seat.

Or cut a hole in the flag, so Mel can put the tifo on top of him, allowing him a clear view of the pitch so he can watch players do absolutely unmissable things during handshakes and lining-up, such as poking their noses, spitting, belching, farting, ogling, glimpsing, singing, whistling, cursing at the referee, receiving a red card for cursing at the referee or poaching an egg in a frying pan.

Yes, First World issues. Buy yours now.

I kinda disagree with the blanket discrimination but this has been the only post to make me laugh out loud today. +1

At least there's no problem about the personal attitudes of members within this group.

Unlike the Fosse Boys who pretended they were hardcore and everyone liked them. UFS seem decent and willing to listen to others outside their group.

Players walking out of the tunnel is irrelevant, not the tifo. I said it wrong haha

He works for the club occasionally.

I'm sure they'd be happy to know someone on their payroll is spouting bigotry on social media and attacking a club sponsored fan group.
