England Euro Squad 2016

In my opinion its a massive schoolboy error on Roys part. Not only do i think he should have gone on form, but nobody else in that squad, can link up with Vardy like Drinky can.

If we get through the group stages and start playing some of the big teams, Drinkys ability to unleash vardy on the break could have been the difference to get us through. I've no doubt Kanes a quality player, but if we play someone like Spain who keep the ball so well, who would you prefer up front?

Bit touchy aren't we? I was just chuckling at someone from Wales lecturing English fans on why we can't win when you've only just qualified for your first tournament since God was a lad.

Oh, in that case, I'm sorry for snapping. It came across as "you're not a top football manager so your opinion isn't valid" which would pretty much render FT pointless!

Fair play, Wales are shit.

Woy once against making sure his favourites gone, Jack Wiltshire is not even fit yet he's gone over Danny Drinkwater. Same goes with Sturridge, Sturridge could pick up an injury at home getting up from the sofa to switch the tele on!

We don't pick players on there form and quality put on there ego and who they are.

It's the formation we play that pisses me off the most. Why do we feel the need to try and play at European style 4-2-3-1 when we clearly don't have the players or ability to do so.

Play 4-4-(fvcking)-2, with two centre forwards and two out and out wingers, and let the opposition worry about the system we're playing rather than the other way around.

I was kind of looking forward to this but I don't think I'll bother now, anything other than England winning it was always going to be a let down after this season, I reckon I'll watch the Wales game and that'll be it.

Ultradropspants.gif surely?

Everyone seems to be missing the point that should concern us, that even though we are Premier League Champions (lol, yeah, I know, right!?) players may want to leave us or not join us because it will affect their chances of international recognition. As Finners says, until there is a change in the hierarchy, this will always be the case with England - I've never noticed it being such a big thing with other national teams.

Form > reputation.

I can understand Wilshere over him because he's very good for England, but how the hell does Henderson continuously get picked despite being absolute piss for the majority of his career, let alone the season. The whole system argument is bollocks too, on the two occasions out of three he performed well for England was with the 4-2-3-1 system. Midfield is certainly where we look the worst as well based on the two friendlies, so it's definitely a huge loss.

He ripped Mytjelland to shreds on his debut, he singlehandedly beat Arsenal, scored the goal that won the Manchester Derby, scored the goal to beat Villa, scored a belter to help beat West Ham in the Cup. Considering he has only played a handful of games only 3 United players have scored more than him, he has scored in Europe in some of the biggest games in the premier league and he scored on his international debut.

They both started the Australia game, Rashford grabbed his opportunity with both hands, as he has done all season. He made it very very difficult for Hodgson not to take him. Danny, sadly for him, didn't.

I'm not saying that he hasn't had a fantastic 2nd half of the season, I just wouldn't call somebody proven who has only 3-4 months senior experience.

I agree he's took his chance, I never said he didn't. As for Drinkwater it was a shame they didn't play him and Vardy at the same time as it often seemed he was playing killer balls as if Vardy was on the pitch

He's only had 3-4 months senior experience so he hasn't proven anything until he's doing it consistently over a season. He's looking likely to be a superstar in the future though I cannot deny that and good for him!

He's proved he isn't overawed by any occasion, he is bang in form and has forced his way into Hodgson's plans, fair play to him. I didn't say he was a proven international, and that he had established himself, but that he has proved he can score goals and win matches.

Drinkwater has proved he can be an outstanding player in a title winning unit, but England isn't the same unit, it isn't set-up to maximise his strengths and minimise his weaknesses like Leicester is, he is trying to be the heartbeat of a misfiring unit of 11 relative strangers and he didn't impress Roy. This is the problem with an International side you need egos and arrogance to be able to replicate your club form, a team player like Danny needs time to settle and find his place and build relationships.

In the Transfer forum, apparently if you're not a professional scout then your opinion is worthless. Oh, and Steve Walsh is god and if you question any player we make bids for then you should get a grip because Walsh probably watched said player since he was a nipper.   :D

It's funny because there has been a general outrage from other fans that Drinkwater should have gone when I'm pretty sure they would be equally outraged if he had been picked.

lol if those squad selection pointed towards starting line up.

Hart

Walker

Cahill

Smalling

Rose

Milner

Rooney

Sterling

Lallana

Vardy

Kane

Worst part of that is that I could see it happening.

Probably the most moronic thing you've ever posted on Foxestalk, Webster, you can do better than that.

If people aren't giving their opinions on here then I've got absolutely no idea why we're all registered.

But, you're right, you're definitely going to clean sweep the Euros without picking on form and merit. Bang on.
