I think that regardless of what he signs we'll be on the same merry go round every year if not every window

yeah but right now he is not on a huge wage as far as football goes. If we try to bully him he is likely to request a transfer. The minute he dose you can start to knock a few mil off his price. Even if he don't go playing the heavy on him may not be good for him or the squad.

The club know him trust them that they are doing it the right way. Whatever anyone says on here (so called itk) the club the owners know him and want to keep him.

Thats one of the most moronic posts I have ever read.

1, He's only two years older than Claudio.

2, Since when has getting older been a crime? the alternative is less palatable.

“I am old but I am forever young at heart. We are always the same age inside. Know that you are the perfect age. Each year is special and precious, you can only live it once. Do not regret growing older, it’s a privilege denied to many!”— actor Richard Gere, age 66. + Girlfriend 29 that will no doubt help his youthfulness

Lighten up a bit short cake, head over to the fighting cock forum some serious chats.

My forum posting is not thought or balanced.

So 92 Pages in and approaching a 'Maynard' and in the scheme of things, are we really any nearer to knowing WTF is going on?

If I was the club I wouldn't let it get that far. I'd make it known that all business will be refused after a certain date, leaving it so late would only bugger us up when it comes to replacements.

This should be the way the club are thinking. Refuse to do any business unless it is completed by say 21st August which might give us time to buy before the window closes. In the case of Mahrez he does not leave for anything less than £60m imo. I certainly hope the club are thinking along these lines. Desperately hoping he stays though.

I'm giving up monitoring the transfer window and will just see who turns up for the Hull game. After all, there I no point salivating over something you cant smell, touch or eat.

I take it you was not about for the Maynard epic. Real transfers don't happen till we reach 100 pages.

maybe we'd sign some players if you stopped trying to eat them

i think its time too tell mahrez, either sign the new contact or go play in the reserve grade till ur contract expires, the club cannot be held to ransom like this. either be hard with him or f**** him off. sick of all the bullshit. if we sell go buy the next best thing and get it done.

I think the club and the player know if he is staying or going.  It's about negotiating the finer points of the deal. whilst he hasn't signed, there remains the chance of a knockout offer being made by a club he would be prepared to join. I don't think we would turn down knock out offers anyway.

A rumour doing the rounds for a few days  is that Riyad unfollowed the club on Instagram end last week. Is that verifiable? would be an odd thing to do. More likely he wasn't following in the first place.

Mourinho was right all along Wenger is a Voyeur

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is Wenger a Voyeur? Arsenal does not want to buy Mahrez. We have OX, Walcott, Gnarby and Welbeck(when he returns) who play that position. Arsenal has stated that he is in the market for one forward and that player will be a striker. Wenger was in LA and decided to watch the Leicester game because we play you guys in the 2nd game of the season. Talk about overreacting to a situation.

Why does this random post concern me?

Because you're being daft.

People need to calm the **** down. Arsenal aren't spending 40m+ on a winger in this window. They need a striker, they need a defender, they've already bought a 30m midfielder.

They've probably not even bid for Mahrez and aren't likely to.

He's due a contract extension and his agent is drawing out negotiations to get him a better deal.

So far there's been no other genuine interest. There is literally no reason other than group hysteria to think he's going anywhere.

That shite african newspaper is at it again saying Mahrez is determined to join the arse.

Arsenal Twitter all assuming it's a done deal, I've translated the report its woeful and full of guesswork. However if he doesn't sign this week I think he's gone, it's not fair on the club or his teammates to drag this on anymore

Surely if this shit continues Arsenal should be reported for tapping up.

If this supposed deal is in place with the player then the owners should play hardball and bench him.

Just give Wenger a job here.. Would say Steve Walsh's old post, but his recruitment doesn't seem to be great lol

But it will probably bring him closer to winning the league and closer to the players he so obviously desires.

Personally think he'd make a great sales assistant in the Fan Store.

I am going to say this one more time, Arsenal does not want to sign Mahrez. Arsenal is loaded at the right wing spot. We have Ox, Walcott, Cambell, Gnarby, and Welbeck who play that position. Wold Mahrez be  an upgrade at the position, possibly but we need to buy a defender and striker and are not going to spend another 30-40 million on a right winger. We are not Chelsea, United or City. We watch the bottom line. The only person stressing you guys out here is Mahrez. He is trying to get the best possible deal. Offer him 130/k per week and he will sign right away.
