Good player but we already have 3 left sided midfielders in Schlupp, Albrighton and Gray. Why do we need a 4th?

Because he is Irish and we have a serious lack of players from the Emerald Isle. We never properly replaced Sean St Ledger.

good potential signing imo, a player who is dangerous at deadball situations hard woking, versatile and seems a good character

I've often wondered if Albrighton could be even more effective on the right wing, meaning he wouldn't have to cut inside onto his right foot to put balls into the box. But of course Mahrez plays on the right and likes to cut inside himself, and understandably given that's his best probable position. In fairness though the current set up has worked very well, perhaps just something to think about tactically which has been inplemented before last season.

Gray I believe can also play right or left wing, so he gives us options in the wide areas which is positive. I would say Schlupp is best suited to left wing though, due to his stronger foot being left. It also means he can get back to defend if need be.

Overall I'm pleased with our wide options, and Brady could add to that.

We have two right footed wingers and two left footed wingers... The two left footed ones will miss some of the season playing in Africa.

If you're happy to just risk it with two wingers for that period, when we have league and three cups to play in, then you're a bit nuts. We had 5 this season and we didn't even have champs league and cup of nations to play in.

Any kind of injury could see us seriously short.

Warming more and more to this tbf. He's similar to Albrighton wheras Gray is similar to Mahrez, perhaps he's seen as an upgrade on Dyer.

This is spot on.  We need to think of this as a potential replacement for Dyer, not to replace the others.

Brady was signed for Hull when Pearson, Shakespeare and Walsh were all at the club.

So they will have a fairly good idea of what the lad is like off the field also.

That's a good point. Fairly confident that if he comes here that it'll be to be a squad player. Walsh and/or Shakespeare obviously feel he has the right attitude to fight for a place when he isn't playing, not kick up a fuss when he isn't playing and, with that in mind, still put a shift in when he does get his chances.

I'm not overly excited by the prospect of his transfer, but I'm far from disappointed by it all the same.

Of the players we need, we don't need another left sided one.

Fuchs, Chilwell, Albrighton, Schlupp & Gray is enough.

I think you'll find that Albrighton is naturally a right sided player and was used out of position on the left for tactical reasons. He did an excellent job but arguably his best strength is his crossing into the box from the right. Also, Gray plays on the right for England and Ranieri played him there in his cameo roles towards the latter end of the season. I think they can play both like Marhez who mostly plays on the left for Algeria. All part of the more modern style of wanting a winger to be able to cut inside to shoot rather than cross the ball into the box. With many teams having had a season to adapt to our style I can see a manager like Ranieri employing differing tactics this season.

With certain players missing for other competitions and more fixtures, I see a combination of Brady on the left and Gray on the right a brilliant combination personally. Brady has played very well with both Norwich and Ireland when some of the players around him have probably not been of the same calibre as some of ours. No offence meant to those two teams.

I think I'd rather sign a Yarmolenko type.

Someone more attacking who would definitely be one of our best players and can play wide left in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 and also play as a No 10 in a 4-4-1-1.

Brady is a good player but is he an upgrade on Albrighton, Gray or Schlupp?

I like him. Not the sort of signing you'd expect the champions of England to make but I like the fact we are trying to keep a British core with the occasional risk from abroad. It could back fire but we need to stick to our principles even if we end up paying a bit more.

I don't see the point of buying players just to fill out the squad. Surely you buy better than what you've got and make existing players squad players?

The point in buying players to fill out the squad is that our squad isn't big enough to deal with all the games next season yet

Could be a replacement for Chilwell if he's decided he wants to upsticks.

He's not a LB, so that's very doubtful. He's played there out if necessity when injuries have forced his manager's hand

Is he really any better than what we have?

We're not short of wide players in Mahrez, Albrighton, Gray & Schlupp and Fuchs & Chilwell at left back. Left Midfield would possibly be the third or fourth position we would improve on given the chance but if we're going to improve I'd rather splash out and make a marquee signing in that position than bring in a player who appears to be no better than what we have.

Well, what we have won the league so i'd be happy with a smiliart lvl of skill coming in.

What we have will also have to cope with the champions league and that can be alot of extra games and alot of travelling so we need more of what we have.

With the PL title, CL football next season, Shouldn't we be aiming for higher?

Sorry, but I still don't get this attitude. Look what we've just achieved, look at who is in the squad. Names and reputations have meant sod all to this club for quite some time, what matters if fitting the pieces together to create a good team.

Just because we've won the title and just because we've got champions league football does not mean we're going to abandon what has got us in this position.

I agree. Brady is the right fit for our team, right attitude and work rate. I also cant cant see him being a prima donna if he doesn't play every week. We need to add to the squad and I think hes a perfect fit

I think he would be a good fit too and can slot into LB as well as his natural LM role. Not sure what it means for Jeff but we do more strength in depth. Had a good euros and we've been linked with him since the Pearson days
