Apparently Norwich have slapped a £20 million price tag on Brady.

Wonder if this is why it has gone quiet, decent player, but DEFINITELY wouldn't want us to spend that much on him.

Oh for Pete's sake no one will buy anyone anymore.

Keane? 20 million. Brady? 20 million. I suppose they'd ask for 25 million for Cameron Jerome. Ludicrous.

Few reports this morning saying we have pulled out because of the fee. Absolute joke to be honest, they sold Redmond who is a better player for 11m lol.

No wonder we are going overseas to buy players when English clubs are a complete farce with fees.

I know Brady is Irish but this kind of thing (Keane also an example) is another reason why England underperform, our players get completely overvalued and alot either can't live up to the fee or are forced to stay at lesser clubs and miss out on vital experience in Europe etc.

£20m for Brady is a ridiculous price tag - if true.

Never in the world is he worth that. Might as well value Vardy at £100m then.

Hi all, Norwich fan in peace.  First of all a quick and belated congratulations on the magnificent season last year, truly outstanding.  Chances of winning the CL this coming season?? :)

Anyway, In a bored moment I came across this thread and thought i would add the Norwich perspective.  Firstly, dont try and compare the potential Brady fee with Redmond.  Redmond stayed loyal last time we were relegated and then only had 1 year left on his contract when sold last week.  We didnt have the bargaining power with just 12 months left on his contract and could not stand in his way after 3 good years for the club.

Brady on the other hand, has 2 years left on his deal, has only been with us 12 months, has had a great Euros (we all know that inflates the fee) and had a far more consistent season last year than Redmond.  Do i think he is worth 20 mil?  No of course not, will he be sold for 20 mil?  Unlikely.  Has our board put a high price on him to either keep him at the club to help us get promotion or maximise our fee to allow us to buy 2 decent strikers?  Very much so.  It is the way of the world, and when you see Jordan Ibe (currently no where close to Brady in ability) going for 15 mil, you can expect a similar fee for Brady.

I think you would be getting a player who would excel in your system, who can play left back (a little wasted) LM, LW, CM and also i think could provide great cover at AMC if needed.  With the way fees are going this year, 20 mil is the new 14.

Regardless of whether he signs for you or not, good luck for next season and i hope you get a glamour tie in Champions league that you deserve after last season.  Vardy scoring the winner at the Nou Camp anyone?

Personally, I think the talk about Brady was to push the Musa deal over the line. Brady is decent and would be a good squad player but surely we want to push on to an even higher level. Cant see us making Brady our highest ever spend.

I disagree. I don't think we were looking at him for competition at left back, as I can see us either selling Chilwell to Liverpool or loaning him out for a season.

Brady offers a far more Attacking option at full back compared to Fuchs. I think £12m is a good price considering they signed him for £7m it's a £5m profit from one season in the premier league.

I don't think he'll be coming here, we're looking at playing 4-3-3 next season apparently and our MF and FW line at this moment in time will be:

Kante

Drinkwater

Mendy (new £13m signing)

Mahrez

Vardy

Musa (new £16.5m signing)

With players like Albrighton, Demarai Gray and Schlupp competing for the wide berths we have quality in depth and I don't believe Brady would be a huge upgrade on any of these.

There is a possibility he could be considered for the left back role as we might want a more adventurous one with our new formation but Brady probably isn't defensively good enough for a Ranieri team to play left back.

I'm not interested in playing the glamour sides in the Champions League, I want to get out of the group stage more than be there for the ride.

£20m.... how does that work. They sold the other winger for about half that. lol

It's Rudkin's negotiating skills at work again.

Apparently Redmond only had a year left on his contract. Still wayyy overpriced!

We aren't going to cotton on to these ludicrous fees and end up selling Ulloa to West Brom for like £3.5m

Overpay and sell cheap... it's been the Leicester way for as long as I can remember.
