kingcarr21 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Here we go again with our 2nd Match and it should be a great game. Anyone finishing work early or their workplace having the game on? Heard on the radio this morning that Hodgson is going with an unchanged team. If Kane is ineffective again in this game then changes have to be made. Wales will be well up for it and they are under no pressure after their victory. What formation/players do you think Hodgson should go with? Do you agree with an unchanged side?
Finnegan Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Two mostly unchanged sides. The general feeling is that England played well against Russia, they won't make wholesale changes. I can see us making changes to bring back Ledley, Hennessey and HRK if they're fit to start but the system will be the same as ever. If Kane has a good game and you crowd out Bale, I imagine England 1 - 0. It'll be dull though, we'll be playing with essentially five at the back with two holding midfielders just in front for most of the game and England will be passing around in from of us trying for a break. That's why I think Kane having a good game is more vital for you than playing Vardy, he can score from everywhere. We know that. If England play like they did against Russia, unable to take their chances, and Bale has a stormer I can see us winning but by stormer I mean Vs Inter for Tottenham style ridiculous. Draw likely imho.
StanSP Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 4-0 England. 5-0 and Wales must give England an apology.
Ric Flair Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Wales won't be disciplined enough to frustrate England which is exactly what they need to be doing. I just sense their passion will be their undoing and will allow us openings to punish. I see Rooney having a blinder and Alli scoring twice with the whole of England claiming he's baby jesus reincarnated. England 3-0 Wales
lestajigs Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Probally the best thing for England that bale comment, if that dosnt fire them up, nothing will! 3.1 England
StanSP Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Probally the best thing for England that bale comment, if that dosnt fire them up, nothing will! 3.1 England to be fair, he said it as a joke. if you watch the interview he laughs it off knowing it's not true.
jaqo88 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 2-1 England, can sense it being a struggle just like every England tournament game. Wales will be pumped up, although i think (hope) the talent of some of our players will come through. Unchanged side is probably fair, BUT if it's 0-0 at half-time and we are looking uninspiring Hodgson has to be aware that he has the players on the bench to make a difference. His decision making is something that concerns me greatly
Strokes Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 I'm not confident,i would take a draw if Russia don't beat the Slovaks.

Discipline is our biggest strength. We lack ideas short of "give it to Gareth" but we're well organised. We kept Belgium out for 180 minutes and took four points off them in qualifying by being stubborn as ****. The Italy game aside, they've had much more luck scoring over the last two years than you have. We also don't really need anything from the game to get out of the group so I don't see nerves being a big problem. I'll be amazed if the game is particularly high scoring, even if you end up being all over us for 90 minutes and we never register a shot on target (likely.)

Besides, a load of them are his old friends and team mates from Southampton and Spurs.

ScouseFox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 hahaha you have set yourself up for this. i'm gonna carry it on all year. when we lose our first game to hull and they're top of the league they're going to be THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD EVER

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 I think could go one of two ways. England play well and out play Wales winning two or three nil. Or we play shit and Wales get tactics spit on and see out a nil nil or similar
Finnegan Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 One thing I will say mind, before the rugby world cup game I was a state. Couldn't handle Wales losing to England in that. Stress was comparable to end of season with city before we wrapped it up. This is win win for me though. Of course I know Wales are crap really, I still can't believe we're here tbh. I've waited forever to see this and we've won a game. I'm aware it's tinpot but that's enough for me. As long as we put a shift in vs England I'll be happy either way. If we win, @@Mark should just ban me straight away from FT because I'll crash the server being an unbearable cvnt. But if we lose? Eh, hardly ****ing surprising. It's oddly relaxing.
Wymsey Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Could be a game that could define Hodgson's England future and also whether the England team is actually that good and has real potential to go further internationally.
ScouseFox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 if you win, come off it mate you're not going to win
filbertstreet Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 andy king last minute winner, 89 minutes of the most boring football you ever did watch in the meantime
Samilktray Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Mixed emotions for me. Do like Wales and Bale, and seeings as I like to tell myself I have a Welsh last name is like to do well. But I'm English so I hope we smash them this game.
Nick Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 I'm so disillusioned with Hodgson I'm kinda unsure what to write in here...... Let the chips fall where they may. I just hope Russia don't win the group.
