Some interesting facts

• It will be the 102nd time that England and Wales have played each other, although this is the first instance of them facing off in the finals of a major tournament.

o Wales have failed to beat England in seven of their last eight attempts (W1, D1, L6); their most recent win against their neighbours came back in May 1984, a 1-0 victory in Wrexham.

o This is only the second time England are facing another country from the United Kingdom in a major tournament, after beating Scotland 2-0 at Euro 1996.

o The Three Lions have played in Lens once before, securing a 2-0 victory over Colombia in the Stade Bollaert-Delelis during the 1998 World Cup.

o Wales have only scored twice across their last eight meetings with England; failing to get on the scoresheet in the last four matches played against their neighbours.

o Mark Hughes is the last Welsh player to score against England; it was in May 1984 (1-0).

o England have scored at least once in six of their last seven attempts versus the Dragons, but never more than twice in this run, the last time they scored three or more was in 1978 (3-1 in Cardiff).

o Wales have conceded in each of their last five games (including friendlies), their worst run of conceding since March 2013 (11).

o England have failed to score more than once in 13 of their last 14 matches at a major tournament (World Cup and EURO finals).

o England mustered nine shots against Russia in the first-half, their most in a EURO finals match in the opening 45 minutes since 2004 (11 v Croatia).

o At 25y 293d, England’s starting 11 against Russia was their second-youngest ever at a major finals after the 2002 World Cup clash with Sweden (25y 206d).

o Ramsey has had a hand in three goals in his last three games for Wales (two goals, one assist).

o Jamie Vardy has scored in three of his last four appearances for the Three Lions.

o Gareth Bale has scored 14 of the 31 Wales goals under Chris Coleman since he took charge of his first game in February 2012 (45%).

o Wayne Rooney has scored in seven of his last eight competitive appearances for England.

Hardly.

We expect to win our group of Slovakia, Russia and Wales. That's about it.

We have a squad full of players who have had excellent seasons for top Premier League clubs. We expect moderate levels of success.

Depends which team woy picks, if its a sensible team then a comfortable win.

If its one of his abortions with a side order of bizarre subs then it will play into Wales hands.

Plus we dont have a player even close to Bale's standard and he is capable of anything.

Can't see England winning this. Might be eating my words tomorrow but the manager, players or system do not inspire any belief.

2010-Now has been absolutely dire being an England supporter.

Anyone remember the likely lads episode where they were trying to avoid the England v Hungary result until the highlights were on late at night? That will be me, I was going to finish work but I've told my kids I'll record it then we'll watch it when we they get back from school. Which means ive got to to spend the last couple of hours working trying to avoid the score or anyone who will let it slip.

Itv reporting we looks like we're going with same team as Russia. Oh wonderful, I'm not sure I can be arsed to get excited by that shower of shite.

Did anyone hear Wilshere's comments regarding Kane taking corners. He said the reason was because he has a special technique that makes the ball go all over the place. Firstly I'm not sure you want corners go all over the place, you want them in the danger zone. Secondly that special technique seems to shanking them out for a ****ing throw in every time.

I swear to god with that shit team, the shit subs and that overhyped greedy **** taking corners, Hodgson and the team are just trolling us by giving it the worst possible go at doing anything decent at the tournament.

Bollox to Wales. They are tin pot.

It's time for England to shine.

Fook nerves, fook Hodgson and his daftness..We have the best players which will see us through.

Wales are basically crap.

The rivalry has been built up in the media, but it doesnt change the fact that Wales are crap.

So its up to England to show the extra ability they have and just get the game won.

Wales aren't crap. They're average and they've done well

To qualify, they've one world class player more than us that evens things out slightly but overall and man for man we have more than enough, or at least should have to beat these. We are better than average. Law of averages says we should beat them but you never know in football.
