Time to let go...Kante

Recommended Posts

Seeing that makes me sad. For me, he was our player of the season, and by a long way too. Vardy and Mahrez got all the stats and headlines but Kante made the team tick. It doesn't matter how he left, the fact is that it was the best season in our 132 year history, the players who achieved it have been painted onto a wall to remember it and yet some brain dead "fan" has felt the need to ruin it because Kante never felt at home here and decided to leave. It actually blows my mind.

Nearly all of you are acting like jilted boyfriends.

half of you are kidding yourselves pretending he wasn't that important to us to begin with and the other half are acting as if we will never be able to survive without him..

Looks like someone couldn't let go judging by the mural this morning

(assuming not a photoshop)

Regardless of people's views of Kante, it's also bloody disrespectful to the artist who spent weeks creating it.

It's not about them being sold is it, it's about the manner in which they leave.

Kante is a man who had no respect for our club or its fans.

Get a grip you ****ing girl.

I just don't understand this view..

He was at the club for a year and in that time he gave his all. He didn't cause any trouble, didn't have an ego and arguably was our most important player. Furthermore, he never insinuated that he was going to stay for a second season. He didn't hold the club to ransom or drag the situation out; he made his mind up and left in the same manner as he did everything whilst at the club - quietly.

He was a key part of our success but he made a decision to move and I don't understand why anyone would wish anything other than good luck.

Of course you are right, but every time I hear his name, Kunta Kante pops into my mind.

Richard is on his way back to fix it !

But I fear it will be done again

As much as I dislike Kante, this is just pathetic. I met Richard there several times and he really believed he was doing something all the city could be proud of. Hope nobody does this again, once he fixes it.

In answer to several posts above, this is what is going to happen ....    Its alright calling these prats plastic and pathetic but thats what they think and it will keep happening.  They can scrawl stuff all over it much easier than Richard can redo it.  People are angry ...   angry cus Kante ignored the request of CR to give it one more year and see where this band of brothers could go ...    see what they could achieve ...   if for no one else why didn't he do it for those players around him that helped lift him to the dizzy heights of Premier League Champions ..   its not about the money ...   he could earn £20m with us or £30m with someone else ...  either way the guy is made for life ...   Chelsea is his dream club ..   great !  go there when you have given a bit back to those players and fans that have helped to get you to where you are now.  But he's gone so lets move on.   The hate that some 'fans' feel, (yep, I think thats what it is) will, unfortunately, linger for some time to come ...   You won't change them ...

For now leave the mural of him blank ...   or put someone else who got a medal up ...   but don't just keep redoing it ...   a waste of time and detracts from what was achieved by the rest of the team.

To destroy another persons artwork to take a dig at someone else is pathetic. Its that 10% of fans thatmakes us as a club look like tits

Sadly we have a minority....we always have had going back to the 70's/80's they were even more prevalent ....it's a sad reflection that people feel the need to blight the rest of us with their idiotic behaviour...

Personally it's not the hatred of Kante that bothers me (because I know exactly how they feel), its the vandalism of the mural. That's a legacy to the greatest achievement in our history, probably the greatest in English football. React how you please when you see Kante play against us, but don't disrespect our achievements as a team last season.

But they will disrespect it ...   so don't give them the chance ...   and thats nothing to do with giving in to anybody ...   its about celebrating what a squad of players and all those others surrounding the club achieved instead of focussing on one player ...   put a mural of Shakey up !!

It's an act of violence !

Hatred is ok on a very personal level if it makes you feel better

but once it's stops being personal and it effects others it's no longer cool

This was a violent act and it wasn't cool

Unbelievable that someone would deface it and unbelievable that some people find an excuse to defend it.

Kante was part (a key part) of our greatest ever team and will always be so. It would have been nice if he'd stayed but he didn't. That doesn't in any way diminish his contribution.

****ing moron to vabdalise the mural and anyone who attempts to defend it is an even bigger moron.

Agree. Hope it was just some drunken idiots who did it as a one off.

Should have just carved/chiselled "Kunte" into the sidewalk underneath his face.
