Drinkwater - "I love the club"

Glad he'll stay but this sounds odd...

Quote

I’m leaving the contract to them, I’m not getting involved and just trying to concentrate on my football and what happens out on the pitch.

I very much doubt he's not having a say in it lol

Let's hope it's correct. However, the Daily Mirror isn't exactly the New York Times. Fingers crossed.

No it's not but that's a quote...

I remember him saying something along the lines of "As long as the club continues to match my ambitions I won't leave." as we were promoted and I recall thinking that if he proves himself in the prem he'll definitely outperform us because I could see us stagnating yet the unthinkable happened :D

in other words, "I know what jamie and riyhad are getting so if im not offered parity they can fuch off!"

“Yes, of course (it was 4-4-2). Sooner or later we change something, but everyone knows this is our shape, everyone knows the movement and that is much better.”

I found that the most interesting part... a hint at working on a change of shape perhaps?

No I really do think they leave it to the agents ...    imagine if they tried to do it for themselves ....   Jeff would probably end up paying the club to let him play here.

I don't mean doing it for themselves. I mean in conjunction with their agents. Maybe it's just a figure of speech for Danny!

great news he is vital for us in that central midfield and is the hearbeat of the team. he is the one that quietly goes about his business while other players grab the limelight.he just needs to have a good partner with him to do the dirty work while he plays out the tunes like mozart

Great player. Great to hear after the problems he's had with the fans in the past. Seemed quite frosty at one point in the championship.

Yep that was at Charlton  when he cupped his hand to his ear in the direction of the fans after a bit of criticism.

The world has moved on since then and he deserves all the credit and accolades he's getting from the fans here and football fans in general with his England call up (Sam will surely make him a fixture)

On current form (over the last 15 months) he must be the best midfielder of his type in England

No histrionics from Drinky - he gets on with it, mature enough to know he is at the best club for him

Can't praise the guy enough - Total respect!!

Was it not Middlesbrough away? It was the same day Vardy scored a class goal that made you think "how high can this guy go?"

**edit** looks like we both right as he did it twice... This is the thread for the one after the Middlesbrough game...

The thread makes hilarious reading... My personal favourite.. lol

He couldn't have missed it. He is a dreadful player, he doesn't know what to do with it when he gets it. He starts to turn around and passes back, never makes a run and never tries to play the ball on the FLOOR! Like many of our players don't seem to do. He can make a run but stops and never passes forward or takes anyone on. Gives it to Wes everytime. I don't rate him at all, his Middlesborough goal was good in fairness but on the ball he is awful. No sense of urgency, just takes a jog up the pitch. We need to counter from these corners.

No wonder JohnnyFox hasn't been on here for a few months
