I, on the other hand, believe that Amartey has played as well as Drinkwater and it doesn't rest solely on his performance. I do wish Mendy were back because I feel he is an impact player. I, like you am worried primarily of our defense, but other than that I believe we have a very good chance of beating them. In fact I find Liverpool's defense much worse and more prone than ours to let goals in. Perhaps that is why I am optimistic. Their defense is worse than ours currently; i agree. But by the end of the season i expect Matip and Lovren to form one of the best partnerships in the year, I really rate Matip as a defender and a leader. He will elevate Lovren. And to be fair to their defense now, Moreno was the one leaking goals; i don't think he will be in the lineup when we play them.

foxinsox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Mahrez and Slimani will have travelled to Lesotho and back, they will need some recovery time. Shinji played in Japan yesterday and will play this week in Thailand. Who else is away on international duty besides DD and JV? Time for a little squad rotation for the long haul players, I think, so that we can field a strong team in the CL game.
st albans fox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Vardy will start up top slim will come off the bench. (Unless Claudio thinks he can play the oka role)

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I think substitutes will play a key role in this one. Would be very happy with a draw but have a feeling Liverpool might sneak this one. They're very tough to beat at home!

Algeria are playing at home, simple 3 hour flight then "get to the chopper" and it should be a cricket score, they'll be fresh. Morgan has some hideous air miles (for a change), he seems to handle it quite well though
jammie82uk Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Stat time Liverpool were one of just two teams to beat Leicester in the Premier League last season (along with Arsenal), winning 1-0 at Anfield in December. After winning three league games in a row at Anfield between 1997 and 2000, Leicester have failed to win any of their last five there (D1 L4). Liverpool have won more games against the reigning Premier League champions than any other side has (19). The reigning Premier League champion has not won a league game at Anfield since Manchester United won 1-0 in December 2007 (D3 L5 since). No team has conceded more goals in the Premier League this season than Liverpool (6, level with Watford and Stoke). Jamie Vardy has found the net six times in his last seven Premier League games, and scored both of Leicester's goals in their 2-0 win over Liverpool in February. Only George Boyd (233) has sprinted more often than Liverpool's Roberto Firmino in the top-flight this season (214). Claudio Ranieri has won just one of his five previous league games at Anfield, back in August 2003 (D1 L3). Liverpool have covered more distance than any other Premier League side this season (346km). The Foxes have collected 46 points in 2016, more than any other Premier League side (W13 D7 L2).

Ever... If slimani does get thrown straight in which he won't it will be in place of Okazaki imo, you don't take a 25 goal a season striker and slap him out wide unless you're Roy Hodgson
dbtcity Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I'd like to see a front 4 of Vardy musa. Mahrez Oka but I imagine we'll start the same team that beat Swansea with albrighton on the left
Fennec-Fox Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I think step by step is the way to go .... No rush for Slimani to start... What matters is he gets time and opportunity to show what he can contribute to the team then take it from there. I like to see him as a Sub first starting next week hopefully... But also given a chance to start in a game when possible. That way you keep stability and implement the adaptation gradually. I believe Slim will do everything to earn his spot as a starter cause he got big ambition and confidence which is good for him and for Leicester.

No they won't. They played there last September, a few weeks after I left to move to Zambia. The match is in Algeria tomorrow.
Spudulike Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I don't think that Shinji has ever had a good game for us after an international break. I'd go for... Kasper Simpson Wes Huth Fuchs Amartey Mendy Drinks Mahrez Musa Vardy Possibly Gray if Mahrez comes home knackered.
Lcfcrory Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Schmeichel simpson Morgan Huth fuchs mahrez Drinky Amartey Musa Vardy Okazaki bring Slimani and albrighton on at about 60 and let the carnage commence
RoyFox Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Albrighton will start 100%, no way will Claudio risk Fuchs against Mane without Albrightons protection. At home you can take the risk but not at Anfield. I'd expect the same side as Swansea, with Slimani to replace Okazaki around 60-70 mins, if we're chasing the game he'll also swop Musa for Albrighon early - but it's risky as Musa doesn't (yet) offer the same defensive security.

Albrighton is a must for me

(For that reason, protection) that being said I'm looking forward to us unleashing that front 4 against someone, maybe with slimani in for Oka, the couple of times I've seen Musa come on the left he's looked pretty willing to track back and do his defensive duties! Against Liverpool though doubling up on mane is the way to go
adimo1409 Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 same team started against swansea; may be mendy though if he"s fit Okazaki playing tuesday as well, can he recover after travelling that much , i doubt it but we'll see
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 4 September 2016 Posted 4 September 2016 Mane came off the Senegal match with a knee injury. No one knows how serious. But it sorta makes me glad Vardy and Drinkwater are on the bench.
sm1 Posted 4 September 2016 Posted 4 September 2016 If Mane's out I reckon we'll get a draw. He's been outstanding for Liverpool so far. I think we'll see the same team as Swansea with maybe Musa in for Okazaki if he's too tired.
tsintskaro Posted 4 September 2016 Posted 4 September 2016 Liverpool had no chance against leicester when they lose 2-0 Sturridge is shit so far,so is Firmino,Coutinho is unstable and he has game on Thursday with Brasil and hope Manes injury(?) is serious odds are for Liverpool but its win game for leicester
Swarles Barkley Posted 4 September 2016 Posted 4 September 2016 Unchanged will most likely be the case. What will be most interesting is the bench. Id go with zieler, hernandez, mendy(if fit), Kapustka, gray, musa, slimani leaving no room for chilwell, schlupp, king, james, ulloa. Hard for Ranieri, tough on whoever misses out
