Guest CityFan 06 Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 Another record could be on the way for Vardy. Izzet and Heskey are our current joint highest scorers in the top flight.

AKCJ Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 I think he'll get well into the 50's, probably even 60s.
The whole world smiles Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 With the contract he has just signed and the form he is in I don't think its a stretch to expect 90-100 goals from him before he is done. which I doubt will ever be beaten.
The whole world smiles Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 just an out and out pure goal machine the likes of which I have never seen in my 25 years down the city.
Fox92 Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 Can't believe Izzet is joint top as a midfielder, but then again it's only "the Premier League". Still way of the likes of Lineker. Vardy will score more than 4 goals to break that record with ease.
MPH Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 This is not really a record.. it's kind of like trying to find a record... its a bit of a poor show, for me, when someone has to get 35 goals for a single club to be acclaimed... When he beats the likes of Lineker and smith is when it will become a milestone for me.. but even then... he needs to be getting close to the two arthurs for it to be a significant achivement!!
Merging Cultures Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 just an out and out pure goal machine the likes of which I have never seen in my 25 years down the city.Meh, I am transitioning jobs and have had a 'heavy' lunch!! As such I can't read.

ajthefox Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 Not really much of a record like others have said, although saying he needs to be close to the two Arthurs for it to be an achievement is ridiculous. Plus, given that he's scored 52 goals for us, this is actually kind of a disservice.
Stadt Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 Not bad considering he only got 5 in his first season
Stevosevic Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 It will be done by Christmas - not bad for 2.5 seasons

Some way to go then http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/history/goalscorers
norwichfox Posted 8 September 2016 Posted 8 September 2016 I suppose the discussion is Premier League only, given the history of our scorers (in particular A. Chandler and A Rowley as mentioned above). On this basis, pur opponents Saturday have never won the league

If he can get into the top ten on the list posted above (knowing that it'll be Premier League goals only) then it'll be a wonderful achievement.

Note the word 'significant'... I just think the words legend and phrases like record breaking are handed out far too easily....

We've never done it before and we'll probably never do it again!
sylofox Posted 9 September 2016 Posted 9 September 2016 Not sure why people are putting Vardy down on thi he can only break records that are in front of him. He will never get 250 gold for us but the record he is chasing is our premier league top scorer. And he won't just beat it he will smash it.
