We've not strengthened the squad with enough quality and we're now unable to compete with teams who have strengthened, caught up and overtaken us.

Slowest defence in the league is always going to get found out at some stage. It's not the defence as much as it's the Central Midfield. Everybody thought Amartey was the answer after one flash in the pan game against a very poor Swansea (which we nearly threw away). He's not the the answer.
