Feel for the guy. Found his level in the Championship.

Harsh. In the Championship, he's one of the best full backs. In the Premiership he's more than adequate. It's just that we're trying to move on from adequate.

He's not, can't defend well enough for this level.

Championship he's fine.

his defending is poor, but depending on your style of play, his attacking ability compensates for that. In a team that wants to play that way - out score their opponent - and which isn't fussed about finishing anywhere except out of the relegation zone, he's fine.

Championship level, he's very good - not fine.

Your opinion, Boro seemed to disagree with you, and he wont ever cut it for any length of time in this league if you ask me, in any team. Especially now, bar stools knee injurys.

Villa will miss him

If it means Hutton gets back in the team, Villa will miss him badly!

Get well soon again, Ritchie!

A rare example of a true footballing pro. Never had anything bad to say, never involved in a scandal*.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's one of the ugly sides of football player injuries. Hope he makes a good recovery as I always felt he had more to offer but somehow never seemed to deliver.

Ha ha yeah I remember that.

Never saw the account used on here again, I think the forum owner had to apologise to Ritchie.

I think Ritchie moaned about someone saying that accusation on his Twitter iirc.

He's a rare type of 'defender', likes to go forward a lot but does not much in actually trying to defend his area.
