We really are a mere shadow of last season. Slow, lethargic and quite boring to watch. Maybe we are just used to being spoilt.

Could arsenal's fans theory be right lol

A rather poor game from our side so far, little incentive going forward, complacent, slow, without precision.

And then you miss a chance like that. Goal wide open, but neither Vardy nor Slimani paying attention to where the space is available.

So bad it's untrue

He's not looked fast, he's not putting anywhere near the work-rate in, and he's not even making the runs into the channels anymore.

That said, it's not really the problem, our main issue is in midfield. We can't seem to get the ball forward right or control the ball properly in the middle. And our play is frustratingly slow and predictable. Where is the creativity? Driving runs? We're not even seemingly able to press as a team anymore. Back to the drawing board, I think.

Hmmm... Maybe these big fat contracts we doled out haven't helped... Players seem to have lost some of their drive, although they have played a number of games already this season (and were globe trotting in preseason). Time for the Tinkerman to return methinks

I don't blame Vardy here, I think the onus is on Ranieri to recognise that Vardy is being countered and has something not quite right going on.

Southampton are playing like Liverpool with the high press. We're dropping off as usual. As they're leaving men back with vardy/slimani this is leaving space in the middle but we're trying to bypass it with a ball over the top.
