Guest CityFan 06 Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 I've noticed a lot of people like myself, are commenting on formations they feel could be useful for City to utlize, all with a range of different personnel and tactics. The formation ideas are often associated with our League and European campaigns in mind, where squad rotation is arguably necessary. So... feel free to share your formation suggestions/thoughts here. What would you like to see?

Wymsey Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 451 Pack the midfield to stop silly goals being conceded.
weller54 Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 A three man midfield when playing away from home is imperative!... Have no choice at the moment, it has to be Drinky, Amartey and King.
treer Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 we need to try Schlupp at center back, give in a few games with Was as partner in training for a few weeks, and we have us a new CB
Izzy Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 I dunno. Think I'll leave it with the Don to decide seeing as it's his job. Too much emphasis on formations these days for me. I don't remember all this over analysis back in the day when football was just a simple game.
Nalis Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 3-2-5 We're crying out for an outside left and two inside forwards.
themightyfin Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 Too much being put on what formation we should use. 4-4-2 has served us very well. At the end of the day we defend only leaving one man upfront and getting 10 men behind the ball letting them have possession and breaking as fast as we. An when we get it. 4-4-2 .....3-5-2.....4-2-3-1.....4-3-3 doesn't really come into play when we don't have the ball we get men behind the ball and defend as a team. When we break we leave 3 at the back the same as most teams at all levels. Too much emphasis is put on formations we defend as a team and attack as a team.

ozvaldo Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 3-5-2 Kasper Hernandez, Wes, Huth Gray, Shinji, Drinky, Amartey, Fuchs, Musa, Slim.
StriderHiryu Posted 14 October 2016 Posted 14 October 2016 ^ Think 3-5-2 is a real option that proved to be very successful during the great escape. Team line-up is very important to play that way though, wing backs need to be prepared to put a shift in, good defensively and also offer something going forwards. Luckily in Albrighton and Fuchs I think we have the perfect players for that sort of system. Kasper Hernandez, Morgan, Huth Albrighton, Mendy / King, Drinkwater, Amartey, Fuchs, Musa / Vardy, Slimani / Okazaki. I think if you play this way that some of the more flair players like Mahrez and Gray could end up losing out. But with the amount of games we have (another 6 in 22 days) these players don't have to play every game, so we can and should rotate the system if need be based on who we have available.
lgfualol Posted 14 October 2016 Posted 14 October 2016 541 before a CL match cus you know the players dont give a **** so we might as well try keep goals out by being a tribute to Pulis Kasper Simpson Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Amartey Gray Striker that isnt Okazaki or Ulloa
Ted Maul Posted 14 October 2016 Posted 14 October 2016 Schmeichel Wasilewski Morgan Huth Albrighton Schlupp James Cambiasso Mahrez Vardy Ulloa Back to basics.

Old Fox Posted 14 October 2016 Posted 14 October 2016 Team for me: Schmeichel Albrighton Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Amartey Drinky Mahrez Vardy Slimani

artursteppe Posted 14 October 2016 Posted 14 October 2016 4-1-4-1. Amartey in front of a back four. Defend higher up the pitch with the usual guys up front. Probably Drinky and Mendy for the two in front of Amartey. After that we've got so much attacking talent to pick from for the other four positions between Vardy, Slimani, Albrighton, Mahrez, Gray, Shinji, Ulloa, Schlupp and the young Polish lad. We can then always adapt to using more forwards during the game with substitutions.

SecretPro Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 Don't mind but we definitely need to keep King at left wing.
foxes21 Posted 15 October 2016 Posted 15 October 2016 PL: 4-3-3 Kasper Simpson, Hernandez, Huth, Fuchs King, Amartey, Kaputska Gray, Slimani, Musa CL: 4-4-1-1 Kasper Hernandez, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs Mahrez, Drinkwater, Mendy, Albrighton Okazaki Vardy We really do need, to rotate every game, If we want to play our usual game, which involves high energy.
