Leicester 1 Copenhagen 0

Solid performance.

Personally think Copenhagen was the better side, surprised how well they ball, very good technical team and caused a few problems with their big forward.

Drinky had another good game, thought Fuchs and Albrigton played well too but MOTM for me based purely on his reaction to their player down in the first half lol and that save at the end is Kasper - world class save and kept us the 3 points which to be fair felt like they could of nicked something towards the end.

Quality goal from Mahrez too!

Did you read the start of the match thread? I ain't easily shocked, but I was at some of the guff I was reading about King.

I did. It seems to me that he's just an easy target and highly underappreciated. 'King's ivinsible' is just one of the many foxestalk buzzwords that are said so often people believe it. He doesn't have the range of passing of DD and he's no Kante but he's always given his best for us and has come up with some big moments for us. He was superb tonight so lets give the lad some credit

We were better but not great. There were spells of the Leicester of last season and much more commitment and effort than at the weekend. There were also some forced balls forward and some bad decisions at times.

Copenhagen I thought were decent, they knocked the ball around with the confidence of a team on a 20+ match unbeaten run. If they had got a point I wouldn't have begrudged them it.

Disagree with those saying Copenhagen were the better side and we were lucky. Ok we weren't at our best but if it wasn't for a wrong call by the linesman we'd have comfortably beaten them

If you're not genuinely happy, thrilled, proud and excited of what we've achieved so far in our FIRST EVER champions league campaign, then you never will be. I actually feel sorry for you.

Get off your fvckin entitled high horses, remember who we are and where we've come from, and realise we may NEVER experience this again.

There's Derby, Forest and even Man U and Chelsea fans who'd give their right arm to be in the CL this season.

Well they're not. And we are.

And you can pull apart our performances and criticise the opposition all you want, but you ain't gonna spoil my once in a lifetime enjoyment of al this.

Fu*king well said that man! These are my thoughts exactly only more eloquently put than I would have managed.

Throughout the first half I was becoming annoyed at the constant hoofing of the ball and losing possession however after listening to radio Leicester apparently this was what Ranieri wanted! He said if we tried to keep possession they would close us down too quickly. Personally I'd rather see us pass it along the floor more.

That fooking save from Kasper! :schmike:

I enjoyed that moment in the second half when the regressed alcoholic who was commenting on the game remembered mid sentence which bank he was heavily in arrears to and needed to contact immediately in order to prevent foreclosure on his 500k house.

- Really happy we managed to win tonight.

- Our football in the first half was so, so shit. Fvck knows why we keep playing like that. Much better for pretty much most of the second half though.

- Fans were a bit subdued, but it was still loud in parts. First half performance didn't help too much I guess as it was absolutely buzzing to begin with. Thee guy in UFS who kept shouting at fans telling them to 'fvcking sing' etc too... I appreciate what he was trying to do but that's totally the wrong way to go about it.

- Kasper's save was unbelievable, what a hero

Played reasonably well.

Schmeichel won the game for us, he really can be brilliant, but then he can be really stupid, suppose it's the peril's of being a keeper, if only he could sort his kicking out!!

Vardy looked close to himself tonight, not quite there but not far of the Vardy we know.

Kingy :worship: but don't let John catch me saying that!

Drinky :worship: Quality as standard.

Morgan/Huth - Can they please communicate, Stop going for the same fucking balls!! Have the had a falling out or something, talk to each other FFS!

Mahrez, despite scoring the goal that won the game, still isn't quite there, but again, getting there.

Thought we were quiet as a crowd today, it's got going in parts but wasn't great.

The jobs not done yet, but it's not far off, can we now focus and take the league abit more serious now, please?!

Great result and so close now to last 16, which is a fantastic achievement, but let's be honest, apart from the third quarter, when Riyad started working his magic, it was not pleasant viewing. Kasper's wonder save will be talked about for years. It denied Copenhagen what would probably have been a deserved point ( though I've now seen Slimani's 'offside' goal on tv and it should have been given - just!).

The way I see it is that when we knock the ball around, we are a useful side, but when we speculatively launch it from deep, which is far too often, or whenever the increasingly useless Albrighton tries to pass or cross it, we just hand the ball to the opposition, inviting pressure back on us when there is no need.

I'll always take a win however it is obtained, but we were quite lucky tonight. Mahrez and Schmeichel were very good, the defence and central midfield solid, but the unwillingness to retain possession remains a problem - as does our concentration and precision in the final third.

And finally, quite how  Albrighton stays in the team while Gray couldn't even get on the bench (he wasn't injured) is an absolute mystery.

Good stuff! Looked our usual solid defensive self, although the stubborn mule that is Wes Morgan is starting to piss me off, injured quite clearly after five minutes and no one dared say a thing to him... yes he's the captain but someone needs to manage him and his fitness THREE years without a break, at all. I'm saying it out of concern more than anything, he played brilliantly second half but if he'd been tested at all first half we'd have been screwed.

In other news and not to put a dampener on things, but putting the Champions League in to perspective........

Current Second Placed Sides:

- Real Madrid

- PSG

- Sevilla

- Bayern Munich

- Besiktas

Called the 1-0 win. A scrappy game, not one for the neutral, but an effective performance.

Thought Simpson, Mahrez and Schmeichel had great games. Schmeichel may have just pulled his best, and most important save out for us there. It had to be against the Danish champions.

European aways going into 2017 guaranteed. Fantastic stuff.

OMG - don't tell me there's two of them!

****ing hope so but surely there would be a risk of the world imploding with two Shinjis smiling at the same time.

great result for us and a great result in the other game. They have to go for the win in two weeks. That should play into our hands the draw won't help them. We could be group winners after that game. Would so love another 1-0

We must be the only team to win our first 3 games and not concede a goal in CL history?

Stewards should earn their money...Security what security....

Dude you can make a flare the width of your hand for less than $2 bucks, very easy to disguise as your "junk". If someone wants to get it in they will, stewards or no.

It is unreasonable to think security will catch every illicit device. Even if everyone was strip searched and checked, some sick fvk would still get them in.

We all know it was the KOB fans that brought them in and set them off (when was the last time flares were set off in the KP in a home league match?) ergo in my opinion the club whose fans set the flares off should be fined.

Can we at least have a moan about the price of pies? really takes a shine off the whole day.
