Great result, great to be top, but a below average performance, against an average side. Play to that standard Saturday and another defeat will follow. Dont know what it is, I would suggest a change in mentality or lack of confidence, but we look beatable every game, and something isn't clicking this year. An average side that hadn't lost in 25+ games. We got the goal, kept a clean sheet and got the 3 points. what else do you want? The trophy already.

The standard of their league is nothing to shout home about, and they have played the same teams we have in the cup, who are nothing to shout home about. As I say I'm happy with the results in Europe, but I'm concerned about how we are playing. If you think we are playing good, I'm glad for you, but as we have seen, put us against decent sides, and we are found wanting massively. Im concerned as we struggle to pass to each other, constantly hoof the ball aimless, giving away possession and inviting pressure, which better teams are destroying us. So as I'm happy with where we sit in the champions league, there is for me, a lot still to be concerned about.
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 I think there are many things to be fixed, but the woeful ability to retain possession and not hoof is the most urgent. I think the strikers should have varied their movement, but the midield is so flat and deep when we have the ball. 2 wingers and two similar strikers was failing miserably and Claudio didn't change anything. We switched on for 15mins in the 2nd half and looked good. Then they reverted back to type - why??

I don't know what your expecting us to turn it on and play like Barcelona? i didn't see anyone moaning when we was playing exactly the same way in the run of 1-0 wins towards the end of last season. Performances will get better, winning is much more important though as was proved last season.
whoareyaaa Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Another point to make is we have been battered by 3 big teams away from home. These sides, players, coaches are all out to prove a point and are probably that wound up that we managed to win the title last season they have given it everything against us. the hull loss was a simple case of thinking we would turn up and walk away with 3 points. The 3 champions league games and the other league games we seem to be doing just fine.

We're better than that when they players support each other. 2 minutes ago, whoareyaaa said: i didn't see anyone moaning when we was playing exactly the same way in the run of 1-0 wins towards the end of last season. Go in the match threads and I assure you there were people saying we played shit against the likes of Newcastle, Norwich etc. Thrilled with a win, but not exactly glowing about performance. 2 minutes ago, whoareyaaa said: Performances will get better, winning is much more important though as was proved last season. Nobody is saying it's not more important, but winning a game shouldn't mean people are banned from discussing how we actually played, or poor individual poor performances etc.

Corky Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Result was better than the game but getting through is all that matters at this stage. I'd like more fluidity with our style and the decision to try and hit every ball over the top was irritating because when we tried to build attacks we looked quite good. Need a win on Saturday now.

Just a performance that we can look at and think "that was decent" Champions league aside its they way that we're losing games in the premier league that is the problem. Last night could have gone either way. Their header was just wide and Kaspers save at the end, and that was the difference. All if's and but's, But if they had gone in and we lost the game 2-1 with the very same performance that we turned out I'm pretty sure that everyone would be pulling it to bits. The win is great, 3 from 3 in the champions league is a fantastic achievement and we should be happy with that, but lets not kid ourselves by thinking that was a good display.
FCK Fan Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Lets get some facts for you Leicester fans to think a Little about before buzzing about that your Victory yesterday was SO deserved 1. First of all it was not a deserved win. This game should have ended in a draw. You had two dangerous situation. The first one after two mistakes. Verbic should had cleared the ball and Zanka followed Mahrez instead of standing and thinking about his model girlfriend at home. The second one was correctly judged offside. Look at Slimani's arm/hand and you can see that he was just offside. Cornelius should have scored one, but great save by Kasper. 2. Copenhagen dominated possesion, shots on target, passes and passing accuracy and dangerous attacks. Copenhagen were only really under pressure for around 15 minutes in the Whole game. and that was in start of the second half. 3. The general opinion in Denmark about Leicester's performance yesterday and Leicester's lever in general is that Leicester is a VERY poor team. You didnt want or should we say CAN'T to do much with the ball which is a disappoiment to see from the so called English Champions. 4. FCK are a much different and better team when they are playing at home in Champions League. They have played 10 home matches in Champions League and have 6 wins (Man. United, Celtic, Rubin Kazan, Panathinaikos, Galatasaray and Brugge). 3 draws (Benfica, Barcelona and Juventus) and 1 defeat (Real Madrid). So the point is, you can except to be put under A LOT of pressure when you will meet them in two weeks time and the general opinion among FCK fans or the general football fan in Denmark is that Leicester City will lose. The respect for Leicester, especially when we see when FCK have beating at home before, is at a very low point. The difference will be bigger in Denmark than it was yesterday, no doubt.
GloverFox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Oh please ... will this day never end!!! I've still got donkeys in suits coming up to me, disturbing my hard-working day just to tell me that we got an easy group ....! please ... people ... these teams are the crop of their domestic leagues, Porto 3rd in Primeira Liga, Copenhagen 1st in Superliga and Brugge 1st in the Belgian Pro League!!! The opposition are NOT insignificant poor sides, they need respecting and it takes something to beat them .... we deserve to be where we are as a club and we need to respect not only the opposition but also the achievements of our club in getting 3 from 3 ... massive achievement and huge respect is due ... C'mon City ... and you negative donkeys out there PLEASE let me get on! lunch over ... back to the grind!

Corky Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Yeah, we had all these fans on here last season saying they had more possession and shots. They lost as well. You missed out the "fans were much better" as well in your comments, that completes the set of "we didn't win the game but won everything else" argument.
FCK Fan Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Corky Yeah, but the difference is that you are not creating any real chances at the moment. The other teams know exactly how you are playing and are giving you the respect you deserves after what you did last season. Thats the Whole difference. Last season no one respected you an all thought they could handle you, thats not the case anymore. The teams are much more aware and that is why you are postioned in the PL where you belong and that is why you will lose in 14 days in Copenhagen, no doubt my friend.
Gerard Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 A great result last night and a brilliant 9 from 9 in three Champions League games. Buts let not kid ourselves that all is well, the midfield looks as isolated as ever with two strikers and defensive full backs. We were woeful again last night against a team with a budget similar to an average Championship side. IMO we will not improve trying to play like this, something has to give.

You sound like a Tottenham fan, my friend. That's almost what they were saying all last season word for word. Possesion this, passing that. We're out of form atm and we still won. We got players who are struggling for form and we still won 3 out of 3. Player for player Leicester are better than Copenhagen. No offence. You got guys like Cornelius up front. He'd be our 4th choice striker. William Kvist was poor at Wigan. You're a decent team but on our day we are better than you.

Sorry, we played right into your hands with our bizarre decision to try and hit everything over the top in the first half, it gave possession back to you too much. You played some neat football but only really threatened with Kasper's save at the end- for how poor we were, we had the ball in the net twice. You had enough of the ball to make things happen- you didn't. You didn't stop us from playing, we stopped ourselves. Anyway, we'll see what happens in two weeks- you might be right and we cave in or hopefully we might try and keep the ball a bit better.
