desertfox2 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 You try saying Slimani after a bottle of Vodka then
Koke Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 There was a guy on Radio Leicester couple of Mondays ago who also kept calling him "the Salami bloke".

Dan Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 What Merson knows about football you could write on the back of a stamp.
Matt Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I remember when Okazaki had just started, couldn't pronounce his name either, infact i'm not sure he can even now. Slim-ani, Oka-zaki....not sure what's hard to pronounce personally.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Think he does it to live up to his name of being bit of a thick twat in order to be funny. Think he's just a knob really
Tielemans63 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I always wonder if Merson is fulfilling some sort of equal opportunities quota on that panel.
Tuna Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 We need to sign this guy and play him up top with Slim. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adigun_Salami Would be a laugh, plus look who he plays for at the moment
Charl91 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I'm positive commentators are also getting worse. During the game on Tuesday, they were talking about some of the great saves that Peter Schmeichel had just made to keep us in the game. Some of the pearls of wisdom I heard today.... "Leicester have been reluctant to try the long ball over the top this season". What?! Have you actually seen us play this season? "That was a typical Amartey tackle". Really? What does a typical Amartey tackle look like?

notnow john Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 It seemed a bit set up too me,but would he be laughing if he was mistakingly called him Paul Moron. Just a minute.

I would guess it's more likely to be pronounced as a French Slim-a-nie.
Wymsey Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Merson is not the type of person who would be first choice for a job in graduation calls (naming people to come up one by one), a main presenter like Jeff Stelling or a tannoy system announcer etc. Not sure whether he is dyslexic or just trying to be funny at times, and can be quite awkward for others.

Izzy Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 'Watching people watching football' on Soccer Saturday is a little bit sad when you think about it....but I still do it occasionally Mersons pretty harmless really. Bit of a muppet and not the sharpest tool in the box but I don't mind him in small doses. There was a period last season where he was massively complementary about us...which was nice.

Don't know much about him, but confident he would struggle to pronounce your username.

Fairly sure Phil Thompson had his name (Shinji) on a sheet of paper in that form some kids learn, phonetics or something when he first started for us.
