Kasper broken his hand

Recommended Posts

Shit happens... He was my MOTM against Copenhagen. Made an amazing save towards the end, playing with his hand injured, what a hero :worship: Glad we have Zieler, hopefully he can step up. Wishing you a speedy recovery Kasper :schmike:

A real shame as he's in the form of his life. To make that save yesterday as well with a broken hand is very impressive.

Suppose it's quite lucky that the two times Schmeichel's gotten injured in the past couple of years we've got good cover there.

To give the back up GK a match, my guess is that we'll be seeing Kaputska and Gray trying to leave the club in January, and we really don't need to have  R.R. Ziegler kicking down the door to get out....also our regular GK might be suffering with a  fractured hand

Smart arse.

You said that you thought it would be a good idea to rest KS in the WBA thread before he was injured.

I wouldn't have thought that you would have to rest a keeper and rotating keepers to keep your no.2 happy seems a bit odd when Kasper is such great form.

How you can tell his communication skills when the ground is packed with 30,000+ fans all making noise is beyond me....unless you are watching for when his lips move for the whole 90 minutes?

Ridiculous comment, Kasper is clearly more vocal than Zieler, you don't have to watch his lips to tell, some keepers are more vocal than others and marshall their defenders with confidence.

Very bad news. Going to be tough now that's for sure. Not impressed by Zeiler at all.

You rather have Schwarzer or Weale?

Zieler would start for at least 50% of the teams in this league. Some of you are underestimating him. He's a good keeper. Not his fault we let 4 in at Old Trafford just like it wasn't Schmeichel fault we let 3 in at Stamford Bridge.

Zieler will do a good job. GK is the least of our problems right now.

You said....in your works he needs to talk more ..... I was a keeper and can tell you now there is no way of telling who is the most vocal of the goalkeepers. Some keepers talk constantly ....some shout very loud but not as often every keeper has their own style. To even suggest that a keeper at premiership level is lacking in communication with his team is a ludicrous statement.

If a keeper can not give instruction to his team you really think he would be playing at this level?

All keepers at this level will be very close in their levels of communication it's a basic skill that is part of their game that is learnt from an early age.

How you can say Kasper  is more vocal than Zieler is pure guesswork in your behalf.

i think what you are getting confused with is Kasper had played many more times with his teammates so the basic understanding he will have with them and what he expects from them will be evident that's the difffereince you will be seeing not the levels of communication.

I can't help but laugh at people criticizing Zieler for being "less vocal" than Schmeichel.

We've hardly seen Ron-Robert play for us, so that makes for a hard comparison next to a man who has featured 200+ times and whom we've gotten to know pretty much inside out on the pitch.

Zieler has earned rave reviews in the Bundesliga, and that for a team bound for relegation.

Besides, you don't need to shout that often if you've instructed the back four accordingly before the match or follow the manager's strategy.

Also, why is shouting or being vocal as a goalkeeper that important to some?

In the end, it's how you perform on the pitch with saves and blocks that matters.

Its very bad news to lose one of our best players but I`ll take the positive. Zieler seems better in the air and not so wasteful with the ball at his feet or in his hands. Thats as positive as I can be! Thankfully we play WBA, Watford, Middlesbrough and Sunderland and on Dec 10th entertain Man City. Lets hope he is back for that one.

Surely they were bound for relegation for a reason? He was part of the team and maybe he faced the most amount of shots because his organisation of the defence wasn't the best? I wasn't that impressed in the matches I saw, he seemed quite timid.

Not sure why people are criticising Zieler to be honest.

Kasper has been outstanding for us but he's injured. Therefore we need to use our number 2 keeper and he's not going to be a carbon copy of Kasper.

We just have to make sure we keep our (improving) defence solid and hope he can play a positive part in the team in this run of games he's now been given. Hopefully play well enough to give Ranieri a pleasant selection headache when Kasper is fit again.

I was always kind of worried that without a Kasper we won't now be keeping any clean sheets. I just hope that our hoof balls can find our forwards more than the opposition now and I'm full of dread if we try to hold on to a lead.

I had no confidence in Zieler when Phillips was 1 v 1. Schmeichel would've made himself big and intimidated the attacker with his presence. Zieler basically made himself as small as possible and made it easy to score. I wasn't impressed with his over confidence with the ball at his feet either.
