Kasper broken his hand

This is a disaster as Zieler looks very second rate (I'm not sure he has actually saved a shot yet) - I'm downgrading my optimism for lots of points from the next four or five games - sad news.

Except that really impressive one he made against Chelsea.

He isn't second rate, he is really rated in Germany. Made 140 odd saves (most in the league) and 70% of all shots faced in a poor relegated Hannover side.

Don't know if it has been already mentioned but it wasn't a broken hand, it was fractured.

A fracture = A break in a bone...

One of only 2 or 3 of our players who were showing the same form as last season so will be a big loss, Ron-Robert is going to have to be more vocal than he has been previously and command his defence, he's a decent keeper though.

Yeah, his "marshalling" would be my only concern with him.

Making that save with a broken hand, makes him even more of a god.

Glad we signed Zieler now, having to put up with Hamer would of been disastrous.

Hate to say it, but the thought of zieler does not full with me with confidence at all. Our back 4 are more solid with kasper behind them without a doubt. Massive blow for us.

No it's not.

A fracture is a bone that has been chipped or cracked

a break is much more serious

I fractured my leg....it was a clean break and I had to have a nail put down the back of my tibia (shin) to support it. Quite serious in my opinion .

So yeah a fracture is a break lol

With the possible exception of Mendy, and Vardy for a spell last season - we have been incredibly fortunate regarding injuries to major contributors. This was bound to happen, sometime.

So you broke your leg....

I fractured my hand and couldn't fight for 3 months, I broke my other hand and couldn't even train for 6.

you said it yourself ' a clean break'

I always thought fracture meant crack, but hey, no matter.

if kasper is back within a month there is no way on this earth he has suffered a' clean break'

just out of interest how long did it take you to recover from your injury? I'd put my mortgage on it being longer than a month

I've not been impressed with Zieler tbh.

The one conceded against Swansea i think should have been saved.

Chelsea cup game he had some poor moments.

Hope I'm wrong

I best tell all the doctors to get back to med school for telling me I had a fractured tibia. The NHS best change the wording on their website too.

Well no he probably hasn't suffered a clean break. My example was to show that the term fracture is used to describe a break by doctors.

Nah I was running around after 2 weeks mate

Scrap that, I now feel a tit.

the term fracture covers ALL types of breaks, cracks and chipped bones, my mistake.

i can only assume it's a hairline fracture to predict such a short recovery time.

I apologise profusely lol

Haha doctors were put on this earth to be as confusing as possible.

But yeah it won't be too serious with the recovery time.

His presence will be missed, let's just hope Zieler can excel in his absence

He played for Northamton at one point. No way ever he will replace kasper. He's Back up .

I genuinely think this may be the most stupid statement I've read on this forum, and that takes some going.

And that's not even considering the fact that Schmeichel has played for many worse teams than Northampton. lol

Very bad news.

He and Drinky are the only players that have actually improved on last year's performances where many of the others have struggled or gone backwards.

Devastated to read of this injury. I had already posted in WBA pre match thread that I wouldn't mind if Kasper was rested and Zieler came in, if there's a good time for something like this, then I suppose the fixture list would say NOW!

I wish Kasper a very speedy recovery

Why would you need to rest a goalkeeper?

Huge loss, has been in particularly excellent form over the past six weeks or so. His presence is vital, not just his saves.

How you can tell his communication skills when the ground is packed with 30,000+ fans all making noise is beyond me....unless you are watching for when his lips move for the whole 90 minutes?

To give the back up GK a match, my guess is that we'll be seeing Kaputska and Gray trying to leave the club in January, and we really don't need to have  R.R. Ziegler kicking down the door to get out....also our regular GK might be suffering with a  fractured hand
