Lestoh Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 The guy played a full 45 and made a game saving stop with a broken hand, give this man a knighthood
foxy boxing Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 unbelievable playing on with a broken hand but how much stick would he and Claudio have got if he had let in a goal he could have saved if his hand had not been broken. legend for playing on and it worked out for the team but a goalkeeper needs his hands to save the ball and if he cant use it then he should have been replaced.
Beliall Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Played most of the match with a broken hand, pulled off another world class save, what a guy
StriderHiryu Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Zieler is more than competent enough to take on the mantle. Kasper continues to show what a legend he is! Terrific performance from him last night with a key save AND he had a broken wrist. Incredible! You could make a strong argument to say he is the best keeper in the premier league right now. Other than one mistake against Liverpool, I genuinely can't think of another mistake. Distribution is still sometimes awry, but he's the definition of dependable.
sylofox Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Can't he play with a cast on like Vardy did all last season Joking aside get well soon Kasper. What a hero playing on with a broken hand.
Koke Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Shame. Schmeichel is a top 3 keeper in the league. Only De Gea and Cech are better IMO. Lloris is on par with Schmeichel. He's been class this season. Zieler is a solid back up though.

He has a great chance to stake a claim for the number 1 spot against 'weaker' opposition. Shame for Kasper cause he has been brilliant but im not overly worried. He played for Northamton at one point. No way ever he will replace kasper. He's Back up .

Schmeichel played for Darlington, Falkirk, Bury & Coventry - what is your point? Love Kasper but happy with have a competent back up in Zieler.

Matt Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 This seems a lot more serious and definite and obviously his hands are the tools of his trade but wasn't he meant to have a lengthy spell on the sidelines (3 weeks iirc) earlier in the season due to his groin or was it a hernia? But he magically started the next match? Atleast a stupid, pathetic international break is included in the month he's out so a 'free' weekend if you like.
ARM1968 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Zieler will do ok. Don't worry. It's the other end we need to worry about.

Joe Hart = Shrewsbury Kevin Keegan = Scunthorpe Alan Smith = none league Vardy = none league Mahrez = Le Harve He also has a world cup winners medal.
evil jack Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Have we won a game yet when Zeiler was in goal? Can't recall.....
Detroit Blues Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Well we should be able to get by brugge without him, and hopefully he'll be fully healthy in January for the round of 16. But this does not bode well for our premier league campaign. Hopefully Zieler will use this as an opportunity to prove himself. I just tend to think we play a different way when Schmeichel is in net.
UPinCarolina Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Sure makes you glad that we bought Zieler...and that we should be into the knockout stages of the CL by the time he returns!

Annoying as he's been class recently but Zieler now has a chance to establish himself here, it'll help if our back four do their jobs properly which they look to have improved upon since his last appearance. That's my only issue with Zieler, possibly the reason our back four don't do as good a job when he is in goal is down to his a communication issue or Zielers inability to take charge to the same degree. General goal keeping he hasn't done a lot wrong Having said that we had Kasper in goal for the Chelsea and Liverpool games so maybe it was just our back four.
ithuriel Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Zeiler is decent enough back up, so long as Kasper is not out for too long.

EnglishOxide Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Kasper is good, but I genuinely think Zieler has shown signs of being better, the only issue would be his understanding with the back 4 which would take a couple of games to settle into. Claudio could have a dilemma when Kasper is fit again.

STUHILL Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Got no issues with Zieler coming in. He is a top keeper. Kasper has been in great form recently though and his presence at the back will be missed no doubt, but Zieler offers a very calm head and excellent kicking. A good chance for him to show his qualities over the next month.
