Jeff beat more of their players in the 15 minutes he was on than Riyad did the whole game. Same as Saturday.

I thought he looked bloody dangerous last night when he came on

sure he lacks football intelligence at times but he is a frightening player at full pelt

It's sad but true I'm afraid.

He looked decent, to be fair he was going up against poor defenders who were 75 minutes into their game but he was the opposite of Mahrez last direct, direct and aggressive. Could have got himself a goal as well which would have been deserved given his attitude coming off the bench Saturday and last night.

Hahahaahaaa but what on earth did he do in those 15 minutes. Waste a fairly decent chance shotting tamely at the goalkeeper and then very little else. His end product is abysmal, always has and always will be. Get rid of the Hillman.

Gray missed two sitters....

He's like a car without a steering wheel, only gifted with speed. He can somehow defend when he feels like it and score on a misunderstanding, but other than I fail to see why he should stay.

Wingers aren't scarce in this team. Football intelligence is exactly why there are worlds between a Mahrez and a Jeff Schlupp, a playmaker and an ostrich.

I'm not disputing that, until Gray becomes more clinical in the final third it's easy for Ranieri to leave him out. However, we've seen Gray for less than a year and Schlupp for the best part of 5-6 and the latter has shown absolutely no sign of improvement in that respect. He's gone from being a striker to a defender and winger where his assists and goals return is a disgrace.

TBH Schlupp's only playing well because he wants a move. He's been woefully out of his depth in the vast majority of the games he's played for us.

A lovely feller but I think it's in everyone's interest we let him go in January.

If we played a 352 (yes 3 at back), and him as a slight wingback with Fuchs covering in behind, he could excel.

However I would prefer not to build a team around accomodating Jeff Schlupp.

I liked the 352 in the great escape it was exciting and it worked without Kante, not sure why we've not tried it again seeing as we have the personnel and the experience to do it!

Bang on. That chance second half - he's in a 3 on 2 situation with two great options either side but goes himself, whacks it straight at the keeper.

Watford he created the root of square feck all.

True but if Gray does become more clinical he could become absolutely world class.

I don't understand how people can moan about Jeff's lack off end product but see Albrighton's as being fine? Last season Jeff played just under half the number of minutes as Albrighton and had roughly half the number of goals and assists. Not to mention he played half of the games at Left Back.

This doesnt make sense... If a player is out of his depth, then how can he suddenly play well?

Now if you had said he was sulking and so not putting a full shift in, but seems to be doing so now to try and bring some offers in, you might have a few more agreeing with you...

Musa? Against Watford? We had one clear chance all game against Watford - it felt to Huth.

Talented? He's a glorified Lloyd Dyer. The difference is Dyer knew what he was good at and what he wasn't good at. Jeff doesn't have that intelligence.

At one point yesterday, the ball fell on the edge of the box and he stopped, went to run. Gave it away right on the edge of the 18 yard box. Then we had the time where he aimlessly ran across the middle of the pitch with the ball.

Jeff went down the line cut a cross back on a plate to someone, I thought it was Musa, who it was doesn't matter you said he created nothing which is untrue as he put one on a plate for someone, you don't like Jeff which is fine, but people are making stuff up to criticize him which is unfair

He didn't put anything on the plate for anyone against Watford. I watched back the highlights Sunday morning. He crossed a few balls what had zero accuracy or were blocked for a corner.

To make sure I've not gone mad I've just looked through the following reports to find no mention of Schlupp setting up any chance.

These discussions are a bit depressing - because inevitably one side turns up the volume of criticism on a player many of us have come to respect - if not quite love - and on the other side you're left passionately defending a player who does have obvious shortcomings.

What I'd say is that if we can find a player who combines Jeff's defensive qualities (strength, pace, decent in the air, tackling) with his ball carrying skills (no-one turns defence into attack quite as quickly as he does) - but who also poses a regular goal threat and who has the composure to deliver a killer ball/cross when his pace has carried him into dangerous positions, then yes, we should let JS go to West Brom and replace him. If we do find that kind of replacement then we will have have found ourselves one hell of a world beater - one who in all probability will not be happy to be an impact sub.

Players who sit on the bench are never going to be perfect because by definition they wouldn't be happy sitting on the bench if they were. So part of me thinks we should accept JS,  get behind him and hope he can polish up his act. I'd like to see him play as the deepest lying of a three man central midfield, clearing up in front of Huth and Morgan, allowing Drinkwater and partner a freer role further forward and occasionally bursting forward from box to box on the counter attack.

also can they pick a position for the lad and let him work on THAT position and give him a chance to improve instead of being a jack of all trades
